Entrepreneur Predictions For 2010

There is so much hyped up talk in the news about what 2010 is going to be like, that I came to wondering at what the "real feel" was like from entrepreneurs. In regards to 2010 this is what real (toilet paper) entrepreneurs think it is going to be like:

1. Predictions For 2010

2010 Prediction: Entrepreneurs who are authentic, unique and principled will be the winners in 2010 and beyond. Gone are the days of cookie cutter mentalities and systems that make all of our business look, sound and operate alike. Old business models no longer work.

Thanks To: Wendy Franklin Muhammad of The Authentic You

2. You Will Win In 2010

2010 Prediction: 2009 was a good year and 2010 will be a great year. Whatever you put your mind to can and will happen for you. Entrepreneurs will not focus on recession but look to their lesson which will bring them a financial blessing.

Open up your door and say "this is my year, and I will win in 2010."

Thanks To: Derrick Hayes of WOE Enterprises

3. 2010: Entrepreneur Year!

2010 Prediction: Technology continues to expand in leaps and bounds on an almost daily basis! This, in turn, opens more doors for entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurs must step out in faith. They must believe in themselves and in their product or service. The opportunities (many of them free) abound. One must just reach out and take them. Tools and services on the web, in the tech stores, and among our peers offer the ability to succeed as entrepreneurs have never succeeded before. Make it happen!

Thanks To: Dale Little of Business Strategist

4. Confidence

2010 Prediction: This is something that is easier said than done. It is challenged everyday by your customers, competition, and peers. Confidence is the one value every successful person shares and is at the forefront of every business deal. It is the ability to change the outcome of a meeting and create business. Whatever the reason be confident and make good decisions. Take risks and control your future.

Thanks To: Corey Minchow of FHA Refund Processors

5. Resiliency Wins In 2010

2010 Prediction: My great faith in the entrepreneurial spirit of the U.S. leads me to predict that we will see some gains in the economy, despite all of the forces working against such gains. The entrepreneurs who keep plugging away will start to see actual results from their efforts and have strong, growing companies by the end of the year.

Thanks To: JR Rodrigues of Job Hunt Express

6. Genie In A Bottle

2010 Prediction: It would be nice if all we needed was a Genie to tell us everything will be great in the new year but of course life is not that easy. What I can predict for 2010 is a better year for my company than this year (2009 has been pretty good). By seeking out knowledgeable people, experts in their field and having them as mentors/guides, you can beat the odds and grow your business even in a down economy. Mike Michalowicz, of TPE fame, keeps me focused, on the right path for a really great 2010 !

Thanks To: Linda Nagamine of EZ Living Connection

7. Innovate And Not Stagnate!

2010 Prediction: In 2010, I predict that businesses, especially entrepreneurial affairs, will turn towards ever-expanding horizons of innovation. Doing business in new and unique ways, employing different techniques to reach customers and managing client flow through new applications will become de rigeur given the current tentative climate. So, sharpen your social media skills and put on your thinking caps: 2010 will be the year of the inventive! Mazel Tov!

Thanks To: Doula Angelita of Resurgam BirthingWell8899

8. Trends In Entertainment

2010 Prediction: -Cocktails will drive entertainment.

-Experience will be paramount to lavishness.

-The comfort food "reign" will slow down.

-Decor will be simple, warm, sexy.

-Cava and Prosecco will be preferred to champagne.

-Social Media will be a powerful force and the generation of ME will create challenges and opportunities as a force.

-Creative Thinking and Ideas will emerge in times of uncertainty and emotion.

-Finally, and unfortunately, the Commercial Real Estate market will collapse.

Thanks To: Nichole Wright of Bon Vivant Events & Fundraising LLC

9. Collaborations Will Bigger!

2010 Prediction: Entrepreneurs in the USA, likely the world, will step up to the task of bringing their best ideas to the market. Why? So they can contribute to bailing out massive government debts. Someone has to do it. There will be more and better networking both in-person and online. As fast as new online venues for marketing show up, the entrepreneur will try them. What we'll see more of is collaboration - across borders. People will come together with ideas and will rapidly take them to the market in 2010

Thanks To: Patricia Weber of Business Coach for Introverts & Shy

10. The Bad News And The Good News

2010 Prediction: Hey Entrepreneurs!! Here is my 2010 predictions:

Bad News: More individuals will start businesses to give competition to more niches.

BUT... the good news: Passion and Purpose will drive those in possession of these two qualities to the head of their class as shinning examples. Their work for goals will be smarter, not harder, as more innovative strategies are used.

Thanks To: Carolyn Bartz of SECRETS OF CAT ATTITUDE REVEALED

11. 2010 Will Be Outstanding If...

2010 Prediction: 2010 stands to be a fantastic year...for entrepreneurs who take advantage of:

1. Great leaders - find a leading authority you admire who's in the trenches and follow them!

2. Niche marketing - find a niche and go deep!

3. Complimentary relationships - forget competing and find a friend to complimnet...and market with!

BAD year for those who do the same old stuff and/or don't look closely at the above.

Thanks To: Weston Lyon of Weston Lyon's Secret Society

12. Better Than 2009!

2010 Prediction: I predict that 2010 will more fruitful than ever. We can only go up. Most importantly, not matter what is going on--if we believe in our products and services and we are aligned with our true life's purpose then we will experience the success of life in abundance. Let's keep on keeping on! Absurdities and blunders may have crept in during 2009--but those days are OVER!

Thanks To: Robin De-Ivy of Necessary Nutrition, LLC

13. Year Of The Business Owner

2010 Prediction: So many people I know have been laid off from work - and are not really looking to get rehired and go through this traumatic experience again. Some are older and employers are looking to hire young workers. 2010 will be the year for start up businesses as these people start their own service/product business and kiss the corporate world good by. I predict many new business will emerge in 2010.

Thanks To: Dotty Scott of Premium Websites

14. 2010 - Success Is At The Door

2010 Prediction: My prediction for those entrepreneurs who are proactive, pithy, and positive; 2010 holds new successes and greater financial prosperity.

As we create a forward motion and keep that in gear, 2010 holds new opportunities to grab, new challenges to conquer, and new strength to embrace in ourselves, our businesses, and our lives in general.

Thanks To: Michelle Hill of Winning Proof

15. Women Take Charge In 2010!

2010 Prediction: The way business is done is changing. In 2008/2009 it's been proven that the old ways of doing business are over...the rise of 'social media' and 'connecting' is the norm and will remain so.

We predict that women will be taking over the running of many companies, while many will become entrepreneurs.

2010 is the year to get yourself in gear and focus on marketing to women (if you're a male) or shift how you market.

Thanks To: Sandra Baptist of IACWE.com

16. Many More Of Us

2010 Prediction: As former job holders come to grips with the reality that "corporations hire without joy and fire without remorse," they are going to take stock of their skills. They are going to see themselves as "skills holders" available to work on W-2 projects as well as 1099 projects. Fewer of us are going to expect the job security from a corporation that just can't be given. We're going to hang out a shingle to sell our skills, and, in 2010, many of us will do very well.

Thanks To: Brian Massey of Conversion Sciences

17. Roller Coaster

2010 Prediction: Better than expected unemployment rate is a reason to gain some confidence, but consumer spending is still low.

For a new venture in 2010, don't count on getting the full amount of funding you are looking for from VC's.

Most will probably remain cautious through to 2011.

Thanks To: Eric Kates of MortgageLeads.com

18. Hang Ten In 2010!

2010 Prediction: 2009 found most entrepreneurs treading water to keep from drowning. But, we did it and in the process got ourselves in better shape than ever before. Now it's onto the Mavericks competition, surfing the 40 foot waves and making a real splash in the pond of the business world as we now know it!

Thanks To: Christine Scioli of Zan Media

19. It's Up To Us, Isn't It?

2010 Prediction: Two predictions actually -

First, there a chance we can get a bill passed to create a "Founder's Visa" - keep non-resident entrepreneurs here.

Second, 2010 will finally see a surge of new, high-growth firms... People like us will finally take the plunge BUT.... we will do it together. Take advantage of our entrepreneurial ecosystems and not just be self-employed but truly, deeply entrepreneurial!

How can I help you?

Thanks To: Norris Krueger of Entrepreneurship Northwest

20. On The Up & Up

2010 Prediction: When everyone goes right, entrepreneurs go left. When everyone sees a recession, economic crisis & financial turbulence, entrepreneurs see an opportunity. 2010 will provide a much needed boost in sales and resources for entrepreneurs. For all the small business that have been able to weather the storm, the next year will provide even more sunshine. Consumers will have more money, businesses will have more cash flow, and entrepreneurs will have more clients. We must stay optimistic.

Thanks To: Mark Hall of Input Ladder

21. Sugar, Spice... Startup Advice

2010 Prediction: "I believe that women are our future; treat them well and let them have their way." Oh, wait. That's not how the song went. But those are the lyrics for 2010. The trend of women-owned micro-startups will grow exponentially; whether out of creative expression, family necessity, or both. Men will follow suit as national economic issues continue to be in question. But they will take a backseat as they learn (from women) to create startups that reflect transparency and authenticity.

Thanks To: Dave Charbonneau of SelfEnterpriser.com

22. Not For The Meek Or Timid

2010 Prediction: It's going to be another up and down year and those of us who are brave and ready to roll (no pun intended, Mike) will survive and thrive. It's a time for immense learning. Many lessons from the Universe for all of us. I'm trying to learn every lesson possible so that I don't need to have some of them show up again in my life! If you're scared, you aren't alone. Find others who are also scared, but who are also brave and supportive. Winnow away the whiners.

Thanks To: Meggin McIntosh of Emphasis on Excellence, Inc.

23. Carpe Diem & Nighttime Too

2010 Prediction: 2010 is the year of the Tiger - a powerful sign - and a great year for entrepreneurs. I'm already seeing an increase in requests and activity. Chinese ideogram for crisis is danger plus opportunity. Seize the opportunity while everyone else's still bemoaning their fate. Beef up your plan and get crackin' - get that Tiger fired up.

Thanks To: Rebecca Staton-Reinstein of Advantage Leadership, Inc.

24. Be The Good News

2010 Prediction: It's seems it negative or slow growth news these days. I say don't join this crowd.

Be the good news. Make someone's life better by a small innovation. People want to reward meaning. They will pay for a sincere product, especially if they trust you. Focus on making these connections.

My prediction is that people will gravitate towards honest entrepreneurs who they can touch. People who will provide a relevant service. People they can talk to. Be someone's good news.

Thanks To: Pamela Hawley of UniversalGiivng

25. Kickin' Fear In The Butt!

2010 Prediction: I believe like others, I've been crippled with fear the since late 2008 and frankly, I'm sick and tired of it. I'm ready to move forward with big ideas and create something great for my 9 year old business to last another nine years. Watch out because I (we) will be fearless.

Thanks To: Joann Sondy of Creative Aces Corp.

26. Let's Create The 2010! :) :) :

2010 Prediction: Instead of predicting what 2010 will be, let's create it! I declare 2010 will be perfect for entrpreneurs - a year where problems become opportunities because we get to be the ones providing the solutions to these problems, a year we all prosper much more than before as long we are creative, resourceful and confident, full of strong faith and gentle love and kindness!
:) :) :) YES!!!Yay!!!!Yahoo!!!

Thanks To: Kundan Chhabra of Be Your Own Secret Admirer

27. Keep Your Ears To The Ground

2010 Prediction: I believe 2010 will be a good year for entrepreneurs who take the time to learn business and marketing skills rather than just jumping into the frying pan. As the economy slowly improves, entrepreneurs with their ears to the ground can offer products and services that help others on the road to financial recovery.

Thanks To: Phyllis Zimbler Miller of Miller Mosaic, LLC Power Marketing

28. Upswing For 2010

2010 Prediction: Things are on the upswing! The atmosphere is charged with positive and promising energy. Keeping a focused and positive mind on your goals is key for 2010. It's a new year, and a new decade!

Thanks To: Shelley Winsor of Personal Styling/Image Consulting

29. Death Of The 4ps

2010 Prediction: 2010 will be the year entrepreneurs realize that the long term value they will add is to the tribe - the communicty they support with products and services rather than the product/service itself. 2010 will be the year when the "Marketing mix", also known as 4Ps: Price, Place, Promotion, Product, dies. The the tribe behind the product/service will thrive.

Thanks To: Joseph Joel Sherman of Business Tribes

30. Roadmap & Consistency

2010 Prediction: I would have to say for 2010 the outlook for entrepreneurs is like a beacon light in a lighthouse, if they are ready for the launch. The key is to start today creating a RoadMap for your journey & be consistent in what you do. Do not start then stop out of fear or discouragement. Keep in mind our country was founded on entrepreneurs & small business, & we see it returning to that same place. Act now! Be consistent! Have a plan for success!

Thanks To: Robin Hardy of MMPA-Marketing, Media & Production

31. Improved (but Still Not Easy)

2010 Prediction: Economic activity and improved jobs numbers seem to indicate a bottom this quarter. Possibly confirming this, we're seeing increased business as companies are again investing in their websites; positioning to take share as things improve next year. That said, the difficult credit market and widespread consumer FUD (fear, uncertainty and doubt) tells me we're probably in for a modest turn-around in the first half; likely the second half of 2010 before the recovery starts picking up steam.

Thanks To: Stephen Antisdel of Precept Partners, LLC

32. Recession Phenomenon

2010 Prediction: I predict that Entrepreneurs will change the waves in 2010. We are bold, creative, ambitious, curious and persistent. Being associated and continuing to work as a team here on TPE will only continue to allow us to achieve a recession phenomenon!

Thanks To: Susan Vernicek of S&J Identity - Identity Magazine

33. Ok, I'm The Optimist- $$

2010 Prediction: Being the eternal optimist, I predict that entrepreneurs are going to tune in and align their motivations with their pursuits, send clear messages, and find their ideal target markets, which also means more of us are going to start making some money. For example, I'm wrapping up a branding process I've been working on for a few months, and I'm very excited to unveil my new company identity in early 2010!

Thanks To: Lily Iatridis of Boomerang Presentations

34. 2010 Is Gonna Be Great!

2010 Prediction: My prediction is that 2010 will be a great year for us entrepreneurs. We are nimble, we can move quickly to take advantage of opportunities before the big guys. We are rulers of our little universe, so we can make quick decisions without getting bogged down in committees or being fearful to speak the truth. We entrepreneurs have the freedom to pursue our dreams and still reserve the right to change our direction quickly when the need arises. I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store!

Thanks To: Phil Morley of News Release Pro

35. 2010 Will Be A New Beginning

2010 Prediction: My prediction for 2010 is that while we will experience a few more bumps things will start to look decidedly up again. There will be many people still claiming the 'down' economy is hard, and that will last for another year or so. However, those of us smart enough to get on it in 2010 and take some risks will reap very high rewards. It always takes the 'masses' a little longer to catch on to a change - I suggest staying ahead of the curve!

Thanks To: Payson Cooper of Payson & Co., LLC

36. Scrappy, Flexible And Focused

2010 Prediction: 2010 will be the year of the entrepreneur. We are a scrappy, flexible and focused bunch who will be the ones who start the companies who hire the people who grow the economy. We will pick up the pieces as the big top heavy corporations topple over. The nimble entrepreneur will be the humble hero in 2010!

Thanks To: Jan Schwartz of Education and Training Solutions

37. Success Is Coming To Town!

2010 Prediction: For all of us who survived 2009, congratulations! rnrn2010 is sure to bring new opportunities, so keep your eyes open. I believe business will grow SLOWLY. Buyers are savvy and will do their due diligence before they spend money!

Stay upfront and honest and treat your customers like they are the most important people on the planet! And don't forget to FOLLOW-UP! Sometimes business is won just because you are the only one who returned a phone call!

Thanks To: Ellen DePasquale of Efficient Office Computing

38. Tip Often&tip Well

2010 Prediction: 1. Relevant data that the search engines deem useful. The engines like it they will respond.

2. Cloud computing , Google Mail, a great example moving your data safely and securely.

3.Mobile and SMS to reach our clients and their audience. The battle on the apps front and the competition just starting to heat up..

4. Stay tuned into Mike, he's a resource for 2010 and beyond

Thanks To: Jerry Pollio of CMT Blog Real Time Updates

39. Entrepreneurs Will Thrive

2010 Prediction: Entrepreneurs will flourish in 2010. Consumers will seek faster and better ways to get things done. They will also desire ways to save money on products and services that they need. Entrepreneurs that are able to provide consumers with cost effective solutions will do well in 2010.

Thanks To: Tangela Walker-Craft of Simply Necessary, Incorporated

40. Bring It On!

2010 Prediction: A new year is like a new day! Every day is a new journey for an entrepreneur and we face obstacles no matter what year it is and where we are. I think entrepreneurs will be even stronger in 2010 than in 2009 because with the economy the way it is we have to improvise with only a few sheets of toilet paper! I think more people will become entrepreneurs and start their own thing and I think ones that are in it now will succeed beyond limitations if they continue with their focus and drive.

Thanks To: Ashley Bodi of BusinessBeware.biz

41. Build & Live The New Design

2010 Prediction: In 2009 entrepreneurs began rediscovering and redesigning what will work. In 2010 we will build, market, and work the redesign. One tip: Go global if you want to recover faster!

Thanks To: Kate Nasser of The People-Skills Coach, CAS, Inc.

42. Beyond Digital Awesomeness

2010 Prediction: We have been through a recovery phase throughout 2009 and most of us used digital tools to reach people we want to and in that way realized that its a lot which can be done without traditional advertising online, In 2010 I believe we should implement this strategy offline and make our customers happy in a physical manner as we have learnt a lot from this tech savvy recovery phase that customers need value in our stuff.

Lets welcome this year with an essence of intellectual awesomeness.

Thanks To: Akash Sharma of Revenue Strategy Solutions Ltd.

43. Grrrrrrrreat Year

2010 Prediction: It's going to be a Grrrrrrrrrrreat Year.....Just Like Tony The Tiger says!!

All you have to do is.......WORK. No other way. Oh and LOVE what you do.

Thanks To: Rachel Gaffney of RACHEL GAFFNEYS AUTHENTICIRISHGOODS

44. Freedom!

2010 Prediction: 2010 is going to be the year for FREEDOM...freedom of time, financial freedom, freedom to help others!!! If we set our minds to it and determine NOW that 2010 is our year, it will be.

Dream BIG, set goals, then get to work!

Thanks To: Jocelyn Wiebe of AmeriPlan

45. Light At The End Of The Tunnel

2010 Prediction: I think 2010 can only be better for entrepreneurs, willing to take the risk of running a business, than 2009 has been! As the economy turns and (hopefully!) people get jobs again, I hope that retail will pick up again. I know a lot of small businesses won't survive this recession, but I think the ones that made it, will only be stronger.

Thanks To: Michelle Hamman of MotherTongues T-shirts

46. St. Patrick's Day To The Rescue

2010 Prediction: Bill Cullen, the Irish host of 'The Apprentice' T.V. show says Ireland will start to emerge from the belly of the pit we now find ourselves in from March 17th 2010 a.k.a. St. Patrick's Day. Bill was speaking at an event I attended in Dublin, Ireland last week.

Thanks To: Marie O'Riordan of Hitbroadcasting

47. Subcontracting

2010 Prediction: I believe the road will be tough for startups but will be very rewarding. We will see less hiring of employees and more contract workers. Start ups will have the flexibility then to use workers when needed on not full time secured. Freeing up owner time and pressure to constantly find more business, freeing up time to make better decisions

Thanks To: Gary Unger of Gary Unger

48. A Problem With Opportunities!

2010 Prediction: It will be incredibly important to get & stay focused in 2010! Decision makers have been holding off on moving forward on so many things & there will be more opportunities available for entrepreneurs. But without focus, you are likely to get distracted & pulled in too many directions! Define winning for 2010. Note what it will take to get there in big chunks & allocate the resources (including your time) that are necessary. Then stick to it while remaining flexible if major shifts occur.

Thanks To: Holly G. Green of The Human Factor, Inc.

49. Ad Budget Moves 2 Social Media

2010 Prediction: In my opinion, 2010 will see an increased use of social media tools by small business owners. More and more business owners will begin to realize just how powerful free social tools can be when it comes to spreading the word about their business, building relationships with customers, and driving sales.

The tools are out there. The tutorials are out there. Social Media Agencies are out there. Now it's just a matter of business owners switching their budget from traditional ads to social media.

Thanks To: Ryan Taft of Catalyst Marketers

50. Success For Those That Planned

2010 Prediction: For those entrepreneurs who used 2009 and the poor economy as a time to look closely at their businesses and decided to make changes, 2010 may be a great year! For me, I took full advantage of the poor economy and slow down to revamp my offerings, redo my websites, and add new features and services that will greatly benefit inventors seeking to sell their products to retailers. By getting better prices from other service providers, I was able to revamp my business for maximum growth!

Thanks To: Jim DeBetta of DeBetta Enterprises
