Biggest Complaint
There are too many people who are afraid of being creative and taking risks.

Biggest Accomplishment
Launching Nextforce despite the naysayers!  Putting on the war paint, checking my pride at the door and moving toward something that is helping others and makes me tick.

Biggest Entrepreneurial Mistake & Lessons Learned
Not asking for help when I needed it. The lessons learned are endless but the top five would be:
YOU CAN'T DO IT ALONE
COLLABORATION IS THE NEXT SOURCE OF ENERGY
ASKING FOR HELP REQUIRES YOU TELLING YOUR STORY TO OTHERS
YOU MUST SELL SOMETHING BEFORE YOU CAN SAY YOU ARE IN BUSINESS
BELIEVE IN YOURSELF AND TRUST OTHERS IN THEIR ABILITIES

Life of Passion
I am firm believer that rather than going and finding your passion, bring it with you. I love what I am doing. I interact with young professionals and companies all day long. I have great partnerships and relationship with people who want to change the world and make everything just a little better. There are a lot of hard times owning and running a business but it is your ability to prepare, adapt and overcome that separates you from the rest of the crowd!

The Lesson
Never, Never, Never give up!- Winston Churchill

In the TV Show, How I Met Your Mother, Barney (Neil Patrick Harris aka "Dougie Houser") says, "SUIT UP!"  No, you don't have to wear a suit all the time, but you do have to show up and be an active participant in this game called life. Energy is contagious and wins ball games. Most people are attracted to positive people with energy and want to be a part of the action. "Suit Up" means waking up every morning, being excited about the day ahead of you, creating your own path and opportunities, connecting with new like-minded people, doing your homework and making it rain!   These are words of wisdom for everyone! If you are an entrepreneur, "Suit Up" is a way of life. You have to get out there! Don't be afraid of failure. Break down doors. Make yourself visible to the world. Share your ideas. Share your stories and make sure everyone sees the fire that is lit in your eyes. Believe me the energy is contagious!

Great article! I love the “Suit Up!” analogy. Much like in sports, you have to get on the field to win. I think way too many people starting their own companies don’t throw their hat fully in the ring, but Ryan definitely has! Best of luck and a great read all around.

    Ryan,

I just can’t stop laughing when I see that picture. It is pure genious. Your commitment to the TP photo, shows that you are a TPE to the end.

    Great photo Ryan.

I thought you were kite surfing at first then I saw the trees and the grass so I figured you were building your very elaborate marketing web :)

As for purpose…I am definitely with you on that. I always say that I didn’t find my purpose it found me. And when I really figured it out and decided to be brave enough to look back it really dotted my past in all key phases of my life. And furthermore, I’ve discovered that it is not what you are good at that drives your passion but what is good for you. Even if you are not professionally trained at it or are any good at it, if it is good for you, your internal compass will help keep you moving in the right direction.

Keep up the good work and continued good fortune to you.
