Don't have enough money to advertise? Consider yourself blessed. There are many ways to get the word out and to do it for pennies. And ironically, when you use a cost free method of advertising you can even outperform the big advertising competitors.
Just think about the number of Aflac commercials you have seen, and how many times you picked up the phone to call them. Probably never. But I bet you have insurance of some type, and it was likely sold to you an entirely different way than an ad or commercial.
Reach out to the publishers of the magazines and newsletters that serve your industry. Offer to write industry articles. Informative articles with your byline will give you credibility and your readers a way to find you.
Participate In Industry Forums
Don't pitch your business (that drives people away), but do share your expertise. Just like articles, forums allow you to show knowledge and expertise. This will grow your credibility. And a little byline, will allow readers to connect with you.
Put Your URL Everywhere
So the obvious thing to do is put your website address (URL) on every email you send, on your letterhead and your business cards. I mean duh, that's the obvious stuff. But did you think about these spots? On your car, in your office window, on t-shirts, on bumper stickers, and reference it in your voice mail.

Redirect The Established Ads Of Failed Competitors
Websites, Yellow Pages ads, and billboards have a lot of staying power, and can keep running after the business behind it is no longer. Check to see if the phone numbers listed in the ads are disconnected. If they are, call your local phone company and have the numbers redirected to you. Then sit back and watch as the prospects call you!
It gets TONS of traffic, and running an ad in most instances is free!
