You’re RIGHT Mike!!! I (well, almost) actually welcome negative feedback, as it gives me a chance to make it right for the customer. I’ve gotten more positive feedback/biz growth from my great customer service this way, pretty much overshadowing any negative consequences from the bad reviews :)

Excellent point. The numbers do matter. Having positive reviews tremendously outweighing negative reviews is a big asset.

Great post! Sometimes negative posts are just personal attacks and have little to do with business exchanges. But you are right, they should be handled professionally because thousands of potential clients will see it, especially if they are posted on the internet; which typically they are because most cowards will post online instead of contacting you directly.

    Cheers

WARNING: At the end of the video when I write “YOU CAN SUCK MY CO….”  I am writing “YOU CAN SUCK MY COOLER FILLED WITH ICE POPS!”

If you think it says something else… you have a filthy mind.

Great post Mike. I’ll also add that negative reviews are AWESOME. You want them, because it often means that you are staking out clear ground and building a brand. When KISS came out in the mid 1970s they got negative reviews from snobby music critics, parents, teachers, religious leaders, etc. But those negative reviews contributed to their image and made their fans love them even more.
Bottom line is if nobody hates you, then you haven’t built a clearly defined brand.

I love the KISS story. I had no idea. Go Gene Simmons. Go Gene!

Mike, I blasted a particularly gut wrenching gruesome story that I found on face Book (I gave the proper credit to the author) that REALLY drove home a point I feel strong about.  Well some one hated it so much that they asked to be removed from my list after recieveing emails from me for over two years.  A few hours later I get an email from a customer stating the complete opposite.  My point is that I am sure that there are a lot more positives out there than negatives.  The negatives will keep us humble and remind us that we can always improve.  By the way, my email had nothing to do with service so the only thing needing a fixing was my not-so-missed former prospect’s attitude.

The negatives do keep us humble. The grand lesson – NO ONE is better then anyone else. NO ONE!

There are just people who can’t be stopped from saying negative things so you just have to move on and do better things.  I came across a video that talks about how to also manage those negative reviews that comes a long your way. http://marieforleo.com/2012/02/negative-reviews/
