looks like the ideas are all meant to do one thing; provide some kind of recognition for the cheapest possible price. I just came up with a technical change that will save our group 100 million per year, that's a billion in the next ten years. The competitive advantage this provides may allow us to increase sales by a couple billion per year as well.I will let you know what kind of recognition I get. I can assure you that if it is not something pretty special, that i will be happy to go to our competitors and take away this 100m per year advantage. I used my past experience to provide this technical capability so it is not the company's property, sort of like the coca cola recipe instead. I have gotten these stupid small worthless things before and left within a year, if I do not get some life changing big bonus or increase in salary and career, my future will be sealed. Sometimes getting even is the best reward! PS, I did this on the side as I saw that the group working on this were incapable, so it was also not part of my job, just self motivation.
