The Y.E.S. (Young Entrepreneur Society) Movie Released Today!
The long awaited Y.E.S. Movie was officially made available to the public today. Normally I wouldn’t write a separate post about something like this, but this movie is BIG for entrepreneurs. The movie includes 35 entrepreneur and wealth building experts from all over the country – most of them (perhaps all of them) are TPEs I might add.
I was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the film and was taken aback by the power of the stories. The tips and tricks are pretty darn amazing, too. Definitely a must see for entrepreneurs of all ages.
Here is the trailer for The Y.E.S. Movie:

Is there anyone else who finds this a little ridiculous? The greed, the self-absorption, the lavish lifestyles…
Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for success and have no problem with working hard and making money, but I have zero desire to be like any of the guys (apparently only guys get rich like that?) portrayed in that preview. Am I alone here?
How about a movie about real, authentic, humble people? I’d much rather be Guy Kawasaki than Donald Trump. I guess it’s all about your definition of success.

@Shawn – Good points and I agree with you on the concept of self-absorption… but just want to add a few things, since I saw the movie.
It actually has quite a few women in it, I think 10 or so. Also people with quite a few backgrounds – from poor, violent backgrounds to middle America to some silver spooned.
I don’t think you will find even a few(dare I say any) of the guests in the movie to be self-absorbed.
In regards to lavish – I think people express success in different ways… and I (we) need to be careful in how I (we) judge others. At face value, this video clearly highlights the material manifestation of success in the trailer, but I think if you watch it in full will discover the spiritual side that some of the experts point to, and the reciprocity many experts in the movie talk about.
Either way, thank you so much for sharing your opinions. I really appreciate it, and hope you consider watching it in full to see if it may be slightly different than its “cover”

Ah… 10 or so women. You know, some of my best friends are women! lol!
It was a funny trailer… My son and I both laughed when he says “paid off…. BIG!” It would have been lovely to add the women in the trailer. Balance of the Yin/Yang is the future of the world, yes?
Thanks for sharing this, Mike!
smiles and joy,

@Rain – That did give me a chuckle too! Yes a little more Yin is good and a little less Yang.

Louis Lautman, the man behind ‘The Yes Movie’ posted a short story about himself and the idea and the desire to get the movie up and running.
Lautman’s story is a good positive read (Ok, he had his ups and downs, but he got there)
This link will take you to his page.

@Everyone – This is a post I wrote a little while back about success and money. I think it ties into what The YES Movie is all about.

Sorry but I had to post another comment. The guy who posted first Shawn I think is your name. It’s cool that you think the movie trailer is cheezy this and that but what do you do? Do you think you are successful at what you do? If you answered yes to that last section then you are successful even though you might not make tons of money. If you can make a movie that embodies those characteristics you mentioned I’ll go watch your movie. But as for now for entrepreneurs they are visualized as glamour, big house, tons of money, but we don’t lose our value as people just because we have a 6 figure income.
To me success is just an achievement. Bliss is the ultimate success. Real, authentic, humble people only appear in books. We live in a world where it’s hard to distinguish reality from make believe and sometimes not everyone is as receptive as you my friend.
Don’t think I’m cutting you down. I’m just sharing my opinion and I’m glad that you are too.

I agree that the movie trailer may make being an entrepreneur seem as all about the money and that is not true. People define success in their own individual terms.
Nonetheless, I think that this movie is great in getting entrepreneurs more publicity and in telling what entrepreneurs go through with their business. Straying away from the status quo of the 9-5 is not easy by any means.
Based on the trailer, the movie definitely seems worthwhile and entrepreneurs at http://www.under30ceo.com/ should check it out. Thanks for the post about the movie, TPEntrepreneur.

thanks for sharing!
March 14th, 2009
@Patricio – Yes I am going to be at the Intrepid to see the premier. I’m very excited!
March 14th, 2009
@Josh – I agree with you.

They’re presenting entrepreneurship in such a horrible way like you’d see on some amateur news show or crappy expose on greedy entrepreneurs. Where’s the story of entrepreneurship for passion and creation instead of doing it for money and possessions?
Jeez, get with it, YES.

@Kienan – I totally here you on the positioning of he preview… but I think you will find the content to be pretty good.
That being said, I had an inside peak at the movie that not many others people have had yet.
If you can, Kienan, you should come to the preview on the Intrepid. Not sure if you are or near New York City, but if you are… I can call the host of the even (Kairos) and get you a ticket.
