2. Get Outside & Unplug
Vacation Idea: Without unplugging from all devices and getting outside, I’m still with one foot in the work week. I MUST get away for a couple of days a month and camp. Oregon has an amazing collection of state parks for camping, hiking, etc. It’s my best place to create. Every book idea I have had, or major solution comes when I’m unplugged and out in nature. I keep a notepad and pen with me in my pocket and a camera, just in case. Ideally, I’d get out daily to disconnect and reconnect. Thanks To: Susan Finch of Susan Finch Web Solutions |

3. Go To A Different Environment!
Vacation Idea: Travel! It need not be terribly far. But get in the car or go somewhere away from the office and away from the computer. Go somewhere different, somewhere you don’t really know. Take a hike. Go to a different city. Don’t plan a very structured day or few days. Break your routine. It’s great for opening up the mind to new possibilities and to seeing things differently. That recharges like nothing else. Thanks To: Andrea Gold of Gold Stars Speakers Bureau |

4. Two Favorites
Vacation Idea: Spend a September week in northern Minnesota on a fishing trip with old friends. Sand Lake is great. No phone. No computer. Plenty of crappie, walleye and beer. Nearby White Oak Casino has a friendly little poker room, too. Awesome re-energizer. In September, mosquito season is over and the crowds are gone. Check out Lakeside Lodge and book some time with pro fishing guide Charlie Worrath. Thanks To: Carson Brackney of Carson Brackney |

5. Get Away From It All!
Vacation Idea: As an entrepreneur, it’s very hard to ever be away from your business, but we all need time to wind down and recharge. I recommend renting a cabin in a beautiful remote area. And if you are really feeling nuts, make sure there is no Internet reception there. You’ll feel jittery for a day or so, but if you let everyone know you’ll be gone, it can be the best way to truly get away from it all and recharge. Thanks To: Bonnie Buol Ruszczyk of BBR Marketing |

6. Far, Far Away
Vacation Idea: As a single guy living in the city, I find it most beneficial to take a day or two and go someplace quiet and secluded to recharge. It’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of urban living so getting back to nature, whether through fishing, camping or hiking, is a great way to reduce stress and relax. Nothing wrong with a little fresh air to clear and de-clutter your head. And try to leave the Blackberry at home if possible! Thanks To: Anthony Adamas of SEO Service Dallas |

7. Sink Your Feet Into The Sand
Vacation Idea: The one place I recommend to get away from work is definitely the beach. There is something amazing about listening to the waves hit the sand and soaking up some sun. If you live near a beach, take time to go down there and even take a walk. We forget to take the time for simple things. Between the sun, sand and water you will feel refreshed, recharged and even have a sweet tan when you jump back into your entrepreneur duties! Who knows, You may even get a great idea while chilling at the beach. Thanks To: Ashley Bodi of BusinessBeware.Biz |

8. Take It All In!
Vacation Idea: I personally find the Poconos to be a wonderful spot to unwind, regenerate, and let everything just sink in. Being based in NYC, the Poconos are far enough away to feel like a small vacation, but close enough to not have to plan ahead in order for it to happen. Every entrepreneur should give themselves time to do NOTHING! Just sit back, relax, and let everything percolate in the back of your mind. Find a place that is nearby, welcoming, a home away from home…and enjoy! Thanks To: Jenn Lederer of AFST Management |

9. Hit The Slopes!
Vacation Idea: During the winter I snowboard. When I am on the slopes I hear laughter, excitement, and I feel the rush from everybody’s body. The fresh air smell lifts my spirit and refreshes my mind. If you don’t snowboard, hike, ski, hit the beach during the summer. Go where you can be FREE and happy. Thanks To: Susan Vernicek of S&J Identity, Inc. – Identity Magaz |

10. Nothing Like A Good Workout
Vacation Idea: The best place that I have found to relax is the gym. At the gym, you can’t work on your business, you can only work out. By sweating, you feel better and you free your mind of stress. Whether its the treadmill or bench press, sweating is important. If everyone around you at the gym is working out, you can’t default back to your laptop or smart phone to work on your business, you can only work out. Going to the gym can be inexpensive and can give a brief vacation for on-the-go entrepreneurs. Thanks To: Mark Hall of Input Ladder |

11. Beach, Sun, Surf…
Vacation Idea: My fave is the beach…Anywhere there is warm sun, trade wind breezes, sand & palm trees. Extra points if there’s a hammock! If getting away isn’t in the cards, and I just have an afternoon to “veg”, then I go into my backyard where I have a private corner, complete with aforementioned hammock (!), where I can sit, recharge, hang out w/the dogs & play Jimmy Buffett on the iPod and pretend I’m at the beach. Thanks To: DeAnna Radaj of Bante Design LLC |
12. It’s Only Furniture…
Vacation Idea: I suggest going away to a place where there are no cell phones, internet connections, lap tops, TV’s, etc. to do something you love. (Or leave them ALL behind!) In order to recharge, you can’t be plugged in. Leave an emergency phone number with a few key people. I love to read, ski and fish. In the summer it’s off to our family camp in the middle of no where in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. Thanks To: John Kelsey of Wilson Kelsey Design |

13. Hoof It!
Vacation Idea: Since I am new at the entrepreneur game I can’t take long vacations, so I take at least one electronics free day a week (my business is online learning). That means a long, remote hike where there is no connectivity except to the people I’m hiking with. I live in Tucson, so this is doable year ’round! I come home refreshed and ready to dig in once again. Thanks To: Jan Schwartz of Education and Training Solutions |

14. Your Special Sanctuary
Vacation Idea: A simple walk in the woods is all I need to recharge my batteries. The beauty of nature and the stillness in the forest, especially in the hours just after dawn or at twilight, are spiritually uplifting. Combine that with the benefits of a little physical exertion and you’ve got the recipe for a new outlook on life. Thanks To: Dale Furtwengler of Furtwengler & Associates, P.C. |

15. On My Way, Home Sweet Home
Vacation Idea: My number one vacation spot right now, until I find time to get away to a tropical destination like say a Puerto Rico or a Seville, Spain, is in my home. I would recommend a warm destination as an ideal place to recharge the entrepreneurial batteries. But the truth is, I haven’t had a vacation since my honeymoon! So if you’re strapped for time, and need to recharge those batteries, then try to find solace, peace, and comfort in your own backyard. Thanks To: Alexis Avila of Prepped & Polished |

16. Putting On The Ritz!
Vacation Idea: For a quick coastal get-away, I turn to the Ritz-Carlton Half Moon Bay! 17. Float In Hot Water
Vacation Idea: I float my troubles away at Indian Springs in Calistoga, CA. The beautiful Napa Valley provides respite, excellent food, wine and views.. This hip retro retreat has a spa, buddha garden and the yummiest pool of clear, hot mineral water. The hotel is an upscale funky 50’s motel. A day or weekend retreat for the soul. Thanks To: Linda Russell of Mugshots School Photography |

18. Scuba Dive To Revive!
Vacation Idea: I live in S.CA so Cozumel, Mexico is a close yummy get away. It has warm water, laid back atmosphere and great diving. Scuba diving is a meditative, Zen experience for me. I am in the moment, one with the ocean, fish and plant life and it brings me so much pleasure. It’s a great way for me to let go of the mind, create new ideas and be open for what’s next. Thanks To: Debra Smith of The Sensuality Sage |

19. Spiritual Retreats In Nature
Vacation Idea: My favorite place to get away is a spiritual retreat. I love Spiritual Focus Weekends in nature, with fresh water from a deep well, fresh air, starlit skies, intuitive guidance, spiritual mentors, home-made, home-grown organic meals, are the best. A time to commune with like-minded people, to gain insight into oneself, to be inspired with new, fresh, creative ideas, and to be pampered with good food, rest, and soul-nourishing instruction. Topics: Meditation, dreams, my soul’s purpose, genius Thanks To: Laurel Clark of School of Metaphysics |

20. Recharge Your Batteries
Vacation Idea: As entrepreneurs we live with our businesses 24/7. It is healthy to take a break from it once in a while. You can recharge your spirit on the beaches of Costa Rica or Hawaii. Both the places will provide you with a spectacular scenery that it will be easy to forget your business for a week! Thanks To: Malini Hoover of www.iaam.com |
![]() |
21. Calloway Gardens
Vacation Idea: My husband and I actually enjoy combining business with pleasure. We love to attend conferences for entrepreneurs or personal development and plan our family vacations around them. We find the conferences recharge us and the vacation part is just plain fun! One year we went to Calloway Gardens in Georgia after an Entrepreneurial conference and we loved it. There’s nothing as calming and refreshing as being outdoors in nature. Not to mention that it tires the children out! Thanks To: Theresa Gould of RobnT Business Solutions |

22. Head To The Boonies.
Vacation Idea: My most relaxing vacations are when I head to the middle of nowhere and rent a house or cabin that has no internet, TV, or even cell coverage. I know that thought strikes fear into many entrepreneurs, but I personally find that it’s the best way to decompress. It takes a few days to get over the constant urge to check email, Twitter, Facebook, etc, and then, finally I get an overall sense of relaxation that comes from being totally disconnected. Try it! Thanks To: Nicole Dean of Online Business Success Coach |
![]() |
23. Try A Staycation!
Vacation Idea: My very favorite vacations have been STAYcations! Sometimes, the very best place to vacation is simply in your own home! Catching up on things like clearing out your personal space, de-cluttering, curing up on the couch and catching up on some of those favorite shows that have been waiting for you in your TIVO inbox, eating your favorite home-made meals, all for the price of NOTHING can be the most relaxing break of all! That is, if you can arrange for your in-laws to take the kids!!! Thanks To: Sally Shields of The Daughter-in-Law Rules |
24. Seashore Tranquility
Vacation Idea: Nothing like a walk on the beach and the fresh ocean air for rejuvenation. This type of atmosphere adds a tranquil perspective and Thanks To: Carolyn Bartz of SECRETS OF CAT ATTITUDE REVEALED |
![]() |
25. Find Your “flow” Experience
Vacation Idea: Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi describes “flow” as the experience of losing yourself in what you do: how a musician loses herself in her music, how a painter becomes one with the process of painting, the suspension of time, the freedom of complete absorption in your activity. To get away and recharge, you need to find your place of “flow” – for me it is reading a book or watching a movie that transports me to another place. Thanks To: Michelle Hamman of MotherTongues |
![]() |
26. The Sound Of Rushing Water
Vacation Idea: As an entrepreneur who lives near the beach, I would say a perfect getaway would be anywhere you hear the sound of rushing or trickling water. It could be the beach, a lake, or a river. The sound of water soothes, relaxes, and washes away the stresses of life. You’ll find yourself renewed and ready to face the giants. If you’re not near any of the water sources I mentioned…hey…turn on your bathtub or shower, close your eyes and imagine. Thanks To: Michelle Hill of Winning Proof |

27. Go Green – Head To Ireland!
Vacation Idea: Ireland is the most beautiful, earthy, natural place in the world to recharge your batteries. It’s green, lush, verdant … and the people are the friendliest you’ll ever meet. Make a specific point to visit Blarney Castle near Cork, and the Japanese Gardens in Kildaire. You will find many places between the two to meditate, bathe in the beauty of nature, touch your feet to the earth to literally ground yourself, and recharge yourself mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Thanks To: Laura Orsni of Write | Market | Design |

28. Entrepreneurial Escape
Vacation Idea: Sea Ranch, CA is my recommendation for an entrepreneurial escape. Sea Ranch is a community located along 10 miles of the Northern California coastline. My family and I have visited this community dozens of times. I love the natural setting and carefully restricted development. Hiking along the shore and listening to the ocean waves recharges my batteries and clears my mind. It makes me feel like the stress of my “work life” is a million miles away! Thanks To: Steve Sponseller of Innovation Strategies, Inc. |
![]() |
29. Water Does It For Me
Vacation Idea: Get out in nature! Nothing recharges me more than being by the ocean. The vastness of it reminds me of how abundant our universe is. The consistent rhythm of the waves remind me that all is well right now. Maybe for you, it’s the desert, the moutains, or a nearby park. Thanks To: Ann Ronan of Authentic Life Institute |

30. Go Where There’s No Cell Pho
Vacation Idea: Antarctica! As a professional speaker, it was hard to leave my business for an extended time. But, I made the commitment to be gone to Antarctica for 19 days, and it was worth it. Not only did I return rejuvenated, but also with a fantastic speech topic on leadership – and some “cool” pictures. Thanks To: Kelly Watkins of Read My Antarctica Adventure |

31. Bora Bora Is The Best
Vacation Idea: The last time I was in Bora Bora, my wife and I stayed in a grass-roofed hut over the water in the lagoon that surrounds the island. It was so peaceful. We also paddled our own canoe to get around. The island is the perfect size for a bicycle ride to tour everything there is to see. The food is fabulous, and the tranquility seeps into your soul like nowhere else. Thanks To: Donald Mitchell of The 400 Year Project |

32. Enlightening Retreat
Vacation Idea: While a trip to a tropical island is always great for soothing the soul, there is something to say taking out a couple of days for an educational retreat. It can be relaxing and rejuvenating as well. Having not done one for a couple of years my husband and I attended a Millionaire Mind three day event in Denver in November. We had a blast, reconnected with each other, met some wonderful people and totally got revved back up about the path before us personally and for my business. Try it! Thanks To: Cheri Ruskus of Business Victories |

33. Destination Newport
Vacation Idea: I strongly suggest the place I live for a get-away. Newport, RI is on the ocean. It has beautiful beaches, great biking areas, fabulous margaritas, succulent fish dishes, awesome farm-to-table fresh food restaurants, eclectic shopping, historical sites, and very fun people to hang with. It’s why I moved here 12 years ago! Entrepreneurs can get-away, but stay connected. Thanks To: Gwen Gardner of Simply Chickie |

34. Hawaii Here We Come
Vacation Idea: The best place I believe is great to unwind and have a good vacation is Hawaii. Why? It is a great place to be. Beautiful islands. People are wonderful. When I went there, I had such a great time. I did not want to leave. Trust me, if you have never been to Hawaii, you are missing out. You’ve got to get there and soon. You won’t want to leave. I promise you that. Thanks To: Harry Husted of Creating Words |

35. The Beach!
Vacation Idea: This is a tough year to think about vacation – in a recession. Sometimes as an entrepreneur you have to give those luxuries up, but the beach (no cell phone, no laptop) would be my preferred destination. I was lucky enough to win an all-expense paid trip for two to Martinique, a french island in the West Indies so am going there for a 5-days in April. There are alot of places in the Caribbean you can go on a budget, including Puerto Rico and the D.R. Thanks To: Nichole Wright of Bon Vivant Event Planning, PR & Fun |
36. Attention Attention!!!
Vacation Idea: Get to the Beach, a place of beauty, water, of no technology and of mega visual attractions. Entrepreneurs need the negative ions of water to recharges their batteries. Beach combing for shells and stuff is meditative and clears their minds. Watching the waves patterning in and out is terrific for contemplating, “veging” out or creating new ideas. Thanks To: Alice A March of The Attention Factor |

37. Vacation When, How And Where?
Vacation Idea: Just take vacation – one long one or several short ones. What’s as important than WHERE to vacation is when and how, in particular for an introvert entrepreneur. We need our space and small talk isn’t attractive. We also can enjoy being with a few close friends. If the goal is a rested feeling from vacation, then wherever you go, leave work back home. Consider a spa- it’s just you and people serving you. Or a city with plenty to do on your schedule, on your own or with others if you choose. Thanks To: Patricia Weber of Business Coach for Introverts & Shy |

38. Jamaica Mon!!
Vacation Idea: The laid back culture of Jamiaca is amazing! It is impossible to think about work while on the island of Jamaica. The people are ultra friendly, warm weather, and beautiful ocean. No one is ever in a hurry in Jamaica… with all inclusive resorts such as www.beaches.com for the family or www.sandals.com for the couples. Everything is covered from food, drinks, even tips. No Problem Mon!! Thanks To: Cindy Tollen of Sudz N Bubbles, Ltd. |

39. Leap Of Faith At Atlantis!
Vacation Idea: Swim and interact with the dolphins and sea lions, then dry off and enjoy 5 star casual dining. Rest up, then take the leap of faith through the shark tank! It’s always warm and relaxing in the bahamas, leave the iphone at home. Thanks To: Evan Money of Evan Money Inc |

40. Refresh Your Spirit
Vacation Idea: I recommend La Casa de Maria, a retreat center in Santa Barbara, California. I have been going there for over 20 years to refresh my spirit and recharge my batteries. You are surrounded by the beauty of nature, trees, birds, creeks, secret hidden spots to reflect, views of the Pacific Ocean. The food is delicious – fruits and vegetables are grown on the property. Great programs. Cost is inexpensive and they have scholarships. Thanks To: Esther Denn of eDenn Property Management |

41. Pasta Fixes Everything
Vacation Idea: I’m Italian so everything revolves around food, especially if we are feeling drained. When I’m in rut there is nothing better than going to my favorite restaurant and eating a good meal. It’s not completely about the food (but that doesn’t hurt) it’s about putting yourself in a comfortable environment and forgetting the problem of the day. Thanks To: Michelle Littler of littletoad |

42. Ahhh, Taking Care Of Oneself
Vacation Idea: I recharge my batteries everyday whether it be at the gym (love to workout) or at the beach! All of our body is important and I treasure the times I can get physical! Nothing is more grounding for me than to let my brain take a rest, enjoy the wind and sounds of the waves at the water! I find when everything else feels like it closing in on me, my time “letting go” actually becomes a very thoughtful time. Thanks To: Pattie Meyers of Balanced Sole Reflexology |
![]() |
43. Where Else?
Vacation Idea: Maybe I am prejudiced because I live half an hour away, I go to Disney or Universal. When money is tight, I go around Downtown Disney or City Walk and it serves two purposes: I celebrate the fact that I am doing what I love and I also end up refueling with new ideas. Spending some time looking at what someone else imagined and then created always serves as a great motivator. Thanks To: Roxana Nunez of AvidDiva |
![]() |
44. Your Kidding Right?
Vacation Idea: Actually, I am smiling because whenever I travel I have my eyes, ears and mouth open to new ideas and trends. So wherever my business takes me..thats my vacation..I do like urban retreats! Play nice and eat your spinach! Thanks To: Jerry Pollio of CMT Creative Marketing |
![]() |
45. Anywhere But Here!
Vacation Idea: My favorite vacation is one where there is no computer and a poor cellular signal. I love to go camping! Even if it is just for a weekend, I am relaxed when there is no desk to sit at, no computer to work at and my phone is hidden in my bag! Thanks To: Leah Oviedo of Investing In Women |
![]() |
46. Inside Your Mind
Vacation Idea: Go inside your mind. Find peace. Go over your gratefuls. Be at peace with yourself and your creator, or the universe, or whatever Truth connects you. From this foundation you will find more peaceful relationships naturally occuring with others. You are predisposed to peace, which recharges your batteries. And for fun? Do Improv. Be a character. If it’s not improv, what is it for you? Is it running a race in the wilderness? Knitting on the beach? Creating art from old coke cans? Thanks To: Pamela Hawley of UniversalGiving |

47. Everyting Irie Mon
Vacation Idea: There is no place better for recharging those worn down batteries like Jamaica. Whatever your in the mood for they have a spot for you. If I want peace and quiet I go to Foote Prints in Negril. If I am in the mood to do things and meet people, I stay at the Rose Hall Resort & Spa. If I want romance and alone time with my man I stay at Jake’s. If I need to be pampered like a queen Half Moon Bay is the place to be. You gotta love a country where the national motto is no problem mon. Thanks To: Lisa Douglas of Inklusion PR, LLC |
48. Southwestern Sky
Vacation Idea: As an entreprenuer, I work hard. My favorite vacation spot is under the summer, southwestern sky. It’s a liberating and relaxing space. Its beauty inspires and connects me with a surrounding environment of ranch life, the chirping of crickets, and clear, crisp, country air. Every night is spent in the depth of a soaking tub smiling, and savoring a tomorrow where I get to do it all over again. Thanks To: Fran Briggs of Get Sponsored! |
![]() |
49. Fantastic Voyage
Vacation Idea: I recommend that entrepreneurs go on the Tom Joyner Morning Show’s Fantastic Voyage Cruise. I went in 2008 and I’m going back in 2010. The benefits are that the money you pay goes to scholarships to help students stay in college and you get tax credit to help you on your taxes. There are events on the cruise where you can just have fun and also where you can network with successful people from all over the world. This experience will definitely recharge your battery. Thanks To: Derrick Hayes of WOE Enterprises |

50. Cliche Or Not: Hawaii
Vacation Idea: We lived in Boca Raton for 10 years and my husband ran submarine ops in Hawaii annually. Every year he invited me, but I saved my vacation for other places (like Portugal and the Netherlands). We lived in subtropical south Florida, after all. When we moved to Utah, we took the whole family to Hawaii. What?! I’d turned down that paradisiacal place year after year? Florida is nothing like Hawaii! No place on earth has more recharging power than Hawaii. Thanks To: Alison Moore Smith of Easy Blog Setup |
![]() |
51. 3 Hours To Feet In The Sand
Vacation Idea: San Juan, Puerto Rico is only 3 hours from New York but feels like a world away. Thanks To: Jacqui Rosshandler of eatwhatever by Jacquean Products LL |
![]() |
52. Sun, Sea, Sand=rest & Recharge
Vacation Idea: The best place for an entrepreneur to get away to rest and recharge is the FABULOUS Caribbean islands, of course! Entrepreneurs are different and they need to get away often, perhaps every quarter. We love the sunny islands, with each island really different from another. If peace and quiet is what you need it’s your for the taking! Enjoy! Thanks To: Sandra Baptist of Assn of C’bean Women Entrepreneurs |
![]() |
53. Walk In The Park
Vacation Idea: If you want to make work a “walk in the park” (easier), then do that – take a walk in the park. Walk, roller blader, roller skate, run, jog, whatever. Physical exercise and a change of place will recharge your batteries – mentally and physically. Thanks To: Eileen Roth of Everything in its Place |
![]() |
54. Hit The Slopes
Vacation Idea: To re-charge my batteries in the winter, I love to go skiing. One of my favorites sort of nearby is Snowshoe WV. Great snow, awesome runs for this area of the country, and most important for an entrepreneur trying to re-charge…horrible cell phone service on the slopes!!! If you don’t have systems in place to be able to enjoy yourself for a couple days without constant cell phone calls, you’ve really got to look at those systems so you are in charge of the business and not the reverse! Thanks To: Nick Fill of Flagrant-T |
![]() |
55. You Have Two Ears & One Mouth
Vacation Idea: Go to a place, your favorite kind of place. The beach, the woods any place that is just you and nature.. by yourself of course! Once you stop talking, you’ll be able to start listening to your higher self. God has instructions for you and they will be heard if you are silent. The helpful hints the universe is trying to tell you are only heard when you are completely alone with you, yourself and YOU! Thanks To: JoAnn Donahue of Donahue Development |
![]() |
56. Go South, Way South!!!
Vacation Idea: A place so secluded that travel agencies do not even know about it. It’s called Huatulco in the Mexican state of Oaxaca near the Guatemala border. The bays there are some of the top ones in the world, extremely tourist friendly, extremely safe, pristine beaches, food to die for and endless places to shop. October is the best time to go, low season for tourists so it’s not crowded at all. I have been there twice and cannot wait to return for a third time. That’s it! I going there right now! Thanks To: Edwin Soler of Libreria Berea |
![]() |
57. Solar Power Recharge!!
Vacation Idea: There is nothing like laying in the sun, listening to the waves crashing on the beach to recharge the entrepreneurial battery. As you lay in the warm sand, you can feel the stress draining from your weary, overworked body. I love all the Florida beaches, but Cocoa Beach is my favorite (less crowded and no cars allowed on the beach). Plus, if you time it right you can catch a shuttle launch! Thanks To: Dawn Veselka of Out of the Blue Delivered |
![]() |
58. Recharge With The Wind !!!!
Vacation Idea: Do you need to get away? Do you need to recharge? Do it with the wind – the winds of the British Virgin Islands. On land or out on the water, these little islands have it all. When I need to escape, my husband and I charter a sailboat and sail from island to island. No schedule, no phones, or TV’s – just the wind and the water to guide our way around the many beautiful islands. Thanks To: Susan Jenkins of Go Green Go |

59. Home Is Where The Heart Is!
Vacation Idea: If you’ve been to an airport lately you will notice a lot more stress out there. So if you’re trying to chill out from the overwhelm of your business, why add to it with another stressful trip with a lot of travel time and logistical planning. Take brief min-vacations to recharge. They’re not only cost effetive, but much less stressful. Create a sanctuary at home where you can chill and also travel to local areas close by and experience what your own locale has to offer. Simple is good! Thanks To: Craig Wolfe of CelebriDucks |
60. Nature’s Calling
Vacation Idea: The absolute BEST TIP I can give to recharge your batteries is to GO OUTDOORS! Be it for 10 minutes or a 3-day mini-vacation, there is nothing better than being outside…observing nature’s beauty, breathing in the fresh air, and clearing your head. Granted, I’m lucky enough to live in FL, with a 10 minute drive to the most beautiful beach on the planet…Siesta Key. Being near water is BONUS! But I used to live in NY, and even a short, brisk walk in the dead of winter can be uplifting. Thanks To: Deena Ravella of KYSS Bags |

61. The 60 Second Vacation
Vacation Idea: We all have stress on the day to day job. Over the years I have found the 60 second vacation to be the best source for immediate tension release. Get a picture of your favorite relaxation spot. Hawaii beach, Aspen ski slope, remote river, etc. and mount it on the wall in your office. The next time you are stressed out, turn off the phone, close your door and put yourself right in the picture. Close your eyes, feel it, smell it, be there and smile. All is well. Thanks To: Andy Feld of Andy Feld author/speaker |

62. Whales, Kids And Waves
Vacation Idea: When it comes time for Dad/Husbandpreneur to take a break, I can honestly say that Maui is a must. The days are short = Extra rest for that over-exercised brain. The sun is hot = Do away with that pasty-white computer-screen-tan and let the Sun do its job. It’s not cheap = Your hard work has paid off and you’ve found an excellent way to celebrate your success. Whether it’s a vitamin D infusion, amazing snorkeling, or much needed family time, Maui is the place to go. Thanks To: Aaron Jones of AJones Co. |

63. Get Away And Recharge!
Vacation Idea: I take a vacation every day-a mini one of course! I meditate, physically leave the office, run, walk, bicycle…anything that changes up my environment and my surroundings. I also at times buy a luscious magazine, plug in new music and drift away in my cubicle. The important thing is to really make an effort to recharge the batteries, refresh the mind by plugging into what you like, and letting creativity flow by changing your mindscene. As Jay-Z says: On to the next one! Thanks To: Doula Angelita of Resurgam BirthingWell8899 |

64. Gone Fishin!
Vacation Idea: Easy! Annual family fishing trip (now in 45th year) to Canada. Currently includes son, brother, two nephews and family friend. We use Nestor Falls (ON) Fly-In Service. They fly us to lake about 225 miles north of International Falls (MN) for week of fun, fellowship and fishing. Interestingly, while on these trips, I’ve written successful new biz proposals that have grown our biz. And, had numerous discussions with the other enterpreneurs in our family! Thanks To: Steve Drake of Drake & Company |

65. Heaven Awaits You In Brazil
Vacation Idea: My favorite place in the world to go on vacation is Salvador Brazil. It is the most relaxing, beautiful, and just coolest place on earth. The beaches are amazing, the ocean water is warm, the food is delicious, and the people are all cool, relaxed, and friendly. To me it is Heaven on earth. I plan to retire there. Once you go there you will never want to come home. Thanks To: Peter Geisheker of The Geisheker Group Marketing Firm |

66. Where Fun Meets Business!
Vacation Idea: We are “Raising CEO Kids” in our home & so usually we vacation to places that are of course fun & relaxing as well as provide opportunities for them to meet some of their life/biz heroes & sheroes. Last month we vacationed to southern CA & went to Disneyland. We also made time to have dinner w/ the CEO of Pencil Bugs as well as dessert w/ the CEO of Wonderland Bakery! The kids were so excited to meet Jason & Allyson. We also interviewed several of the cast members of Disney while we were there. Thanks To: Sarah Cook of Raising CEO Kids |

67. New Ways To Challenge Yourself
Vacation Idea: Stay in Bar Harbor, ME at a little bed & breakfast, but go hiking in Northeast Harbor. There is a trail called the Perpendicular Trail that is a great challenge and then you can hike down a slightly less direct route down the backside of the mountain. There’s kayaking in the ocean, great restaurants, and wonderful B&Bs. Oh – and you have to go to Mama Mateo’s for drinks & dinner…it is where the locals tend to hang out. 68. Take Mini-vacations
Vacation Idea: As a solo-preneur, it’s rare that I actually get to take a full-scale vacation – last one was about 8 years ago. Instead, I take mini-vacations of 4-6 days by extending a weekend. Destinations are usually near Traverse City, Michigan where there is an abundance of natural resources. I particularly enjoy Leelanau Peninsula and Sleeping Bear Dunes. Or day tripping to any of the numerous small towns in Northern Michigan. BUT… my urban fix is definitely Chicago where I’ll be in few weeks. Thanks To: Joann Sondy of Creative Aces Corp. |

69. Great Guana Cay, Bahamas
Vacation Idea: This 9 mile islet located in the center of the Abaco Islands is the ultimate place for rest and renewal. The Atlantic Ocean borders one side of the islet with the Sea of Abaco on the other side. There’s great snorkeling off the beach on the Atlantic side just minutes from the best tiki bar in the bahamas… Nippers. Walk, read, write, swim, nap in hammocks, sip a cocktail while you watch the sunset… it’s glorious! Thanks To: Dale Little of Business Strategist |

70. Cape Cod In The Off-season
Vacation Idea: There is no better get-away place for a “re-charging the batteries” vacation than Cape Cod, Massachusetts in the off-season (Winter, Spring or Fall). Great scenery and activities without the crowds. Thanks To: JR Rodrigues of Job Hunt Express |

71. Atlantic City!
Vacation Idea: Ok I know its not Bermuda or the Paris but its close to all the NYC entrepreneurs and basically its a home away from home. Book a weekend package at Taj Mahal on the highest floor possible; lock the doors, order room service and RELAX! They offer WiFi just in case you have to check emails and at 3 a.m. you can hit the slots with drink in your hand and be FREE. Bonus* During the summer months you can relax on the beach and watch the beautiful shore!!! Thanks To: Zanade Mann of Online & Off Marketing and PR |
72. Mental R & R
Vacation Idea: One of my clients is a “change artist”. She recommends that whenever one is confronted with an exasperating, difficult, stressful situation – just throw up your hands and shout Excellent! It helps to defuse the situation and enables you to see things from a different perspective. I’ve adopted her strategy with great success. Course, people do look at me funny these days… Thanks To: Phyllis Harber-Murphpy of More Than 9 2 5 Virtual Assistance |

73. Under The Sea!
Vacation Idea: Turn your world upside down and go scuba diving. When you’re under the sea, you are completely focused on that world – not thinking about the deadlines and issues you need to manage in this one. The most spectacular diving I’ve ever done is in Palau. Saw lots of sharks – but none as scary as some of the ones I encounter in the business world. 74. Warm Sun & Cool Drinks -
Vacation Idea: This entrepreneur LOVES to travel and having the freedom to do so these past several years has been a blessing. I for one am a sucker for anything that has warm sun, sandy beaches and cool drinks. Thanks To: Cheryl Hill of Diva In Direct Sales |

75. Me And My Exotic Island
Vacation Idea: Well, if I were to pick a top spot for recharging my entrepreneurial batteries, I would pick Aruba. It is one of my favorite vacation spots. However, since I can’t always get to Aruba, anywhere that’s warm and sunny will do. Sometimes that’s laying in the hammock in my back yard, and other times it’s at the beach. In the winter, when it’s cold, my idea of “warm and sunny” becomes cuddled up in a blanket by the fire watching the snow fall as I read a book. What great ideas!
I plan to be outside more often, I live in the countryside so it is strange that I am always indoors. Time to get closer to nature!
