168 Different Ways How To Be A Better Entrepreneur In One Minute

How many times have you heard an entrepreneur say this: I barely have a minute of free time to improve myself, I am just too busy. That got me thinking about what could be done in 60 seconds. I reached out to the TPE community, and they came back with 168 things you could do.

Now, you don't need to get in my face and say that reading this list will take way more than 60 seconds. Just print it out and put at your desk (that should take less than 60 seconds), then every day read two or three tips and highlight the ones that you can use (again the will take you one 1 minute a day), then implement the tips. No more excuses, start improving yourself NOW.

How To Become An Entrepreneur

1. Use A Swipe File

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Create a new email account then sign up for the mailing lists of some of the top online entrepreneurs. Come back after a week or so and take your one minute a day to read through some of their marketing materials. Pay attention to the subject line, how they are preselling in the email and the sales page they are sending you to.

Buy the occasional product, just to see how their ordering process and sales funnel work (upsells, downsells etc.) Don't forget to implement what you are learning.

2. The 60 second Power Nap

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: My day starts at 1am -- and goes full until about 7pm. I complete many tasks in a day, emails galore, interviews, blogging, research, managing, problem solving, training, meetings -- you name it -- I do it. But sometimes I forget to take a second -- or 60 -- to close my eyes and just relax. This is uber important to keep my focus and keep on top of things. 60 seconds may not seem like much.. but in my life and in my world.. it seems like an hour! :)
Thanks to: Jillian Zavitz of TalktoCanada.com.

3. Read About Other Entrepreneurs

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: My best advice is to spend 1 minute a day reading about other famous entrepreneurs that have made a difference. You'll be inspired to follow in their footsteps! Another great read is "The World is Flat" by Thomas Friedman that discusses the shift every business owner needs to make to be competitive in our global market. Even 1 minute of reading per day will keep your mind open to new ideas for your business, and perhaps a different way of looking at the world and its needs.
Thanks to: Michael Ayalon of Petwebdesigner.com.

4. Write it Down

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Write down one goal, one idea, one 'thing to do'. All it takes is a minute. Write it down on a post it, the back of an envelope, a napkin - it doesn't matter. Then stick it where you can see it. I have a wall covered with scraps of paper behind my desk, full of goals and ideas and 'things to do' - and a scrapbook full of ones I've completed. It's a great motivator!

5. Do just one more thing

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: My tip for being a better entrepreneur in one minute each day is to work all day and at the end of each day, when you are done with everything, do just one more thing. It could be answering one more email, making one more call or making a list of what you want to tackle the next day. But just take one minute to do one more thing.
Thanks to: Michelle Dunn of Michelle Dunn, Writer & Columnist.

6. If only for a minute..

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I only had one minute a day to be a better entrepreneur I would follow an "expert" and one day read or listen to that tip and the next day spend my minute applying it to my business.
Thanks to: Patti Massullo.

7. 60second Biz Boost

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I had only 1 minute a day, to focus on being a better entrepreneur i would read a page from Miracle Power for Infinite Riches by Dr. Joseph Murphy and play a clip from - The Psychology of Winning by Denis Waitley. I hope that you find this tip helpful and try those 2 resources.
Thanks to: L Martin Johnson Pratt of Infinte Marketing Media Solutions.

8. Spread the Love

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: This is a legitimate concern. Why not "spread the love" for 60 secs each day?

Pick one item on your "to do" list and use your minute to send an email to a trusted friend or colleague asking him or her to help you out. This could be as easy as saying "Hey -- can you do a little research for me?" or "Do you know someone who could help with ____?" You might have to pay for your "love spreadin'", but you'll reduce your workload AND increase your network... simultaneously. And in only 1 min.
Thanks to: Angelique Caffrey of Caffrey Creative.

9. Contemplation Chamber extras

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I'd spend that one minute a day listening to a podcast, downloaded audio blog, YouTube video, iTune download, or some other audio platform of business building ideas, tips, or inspiration. If you take it with you into your contemplation chamber as you perform your morning ablutions you can squeeze out a few more minutes of self- and business-development. In fact, based on the resources at hand you can even jot down your own ideas on the TP. Enjoy.
Thanks to: Rebecca Staton-Reinstein of Advantage Leadership, Inc..

10. Work it

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I truly believe that doing 1 minute of either pushups or crunches a day would make me a better and more fit entrepreneur.
Thanks to: tina hill of Kidzsack.

11. You need a kick in the butt!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If you can “spare” only one minute to become a better entrepreneur, use it to call someone who will kick you in the butt. You need to surround yourself with ambitious, intelligent, successful people who find the time for personal and professional development. Whether by osmosis or shame their “kung fu” might rub off on you. Frankly, if you can’t find time for self-improvement you better learn to be satisfied where you are. Professional development is not optional. Find the time!
Thanks to: Jim Bouchard of Think Like a Black Belt.

12. Wipe the Slate Clean

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: My best tip on what to do to become a better entrepreneur with only 1 minute per day is to allow your mind to shut off and just be .... think nothing .... sometimes it seems this is when breakthroughs can happen ....
Thanks to: Sunni Patterson of EXOTIC elegance.

13. Sixty Seconds of Silence

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: STOP DOING for a minute - literally. Breathe deeply and notice where you are, who you've become. No judgment, just awareness. Thoughts will arise. These will inspire and instruct from the depths of you. Being a better entrepreneur starts with being a better person.
Thanks to: Melinda Mallari of Precision Market Services.

14. Stop and Just BE

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: What can you do in 60 seconds to become a better entrepreneur? Stop. Think. Be.

It's easy to get caught up in go, go, go and do, do, do. But take 60 seconds to breathe. To think. To allow your mind to wander. Maybe close your eyes. Meditate. Do a quick downward facing dog. Quiet your busy mind.

Some of my best ideas have come to me when I take a moment to be still, take time to listen and stop trying so hard to "do."
Thanks to: Laura Scholz of Scholz Communications.

15. Sing Like You Mean It

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Call me a feminist, if you like, but listening to and singing at the top of my lungs with meaning to "I Am Woman" by Helen Reddy gets me ready to be the best female entrepreneur on the planet. "Yes, I am wise" and I am a woman entrepreneur, "HEAR ME ROAR!"
Thanks to: Vicki Donlan of VickiDonlan.

16. Choose Your Defining Point

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: You should be able to determine in 60 seconds the one thing to do, that if the rest of your day fell apart, you'd feel like you really accomplished something - your Defining Point for the Day. I accomplished something major, I checked off one task on the way to finishing a project, I made those 5 extra phone calls to prospects, I complimented and encouraged my employees, I fired that jerk of a client who was dragging me down. I did something that made me feel good about myself and my business!
Thanks to: David Weaver of The Weaver Group.

17. Reflect for Success

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I had only one minute per day, I spend that minute analyzing a success and using what I learned to replicate the behavior in the future. On the days in which I didn't enjoy a success I'd devote that time to analyzing a disappointing result with the goal of discovering what I would do differently in the future.
Thanks to: Dale Furtwengler of Furtwengler & Associates, P.C..

18. always something to learn

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I took one minute every day I would read more about other entrepreneurs. Thanks to: David Goldstein of Teambonding.

19. 60 Seconds to Daily Success

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Spend 60 seconds, one minute at the end of every business day. to think about and list, in hand writing, the 3 things you will do tomorrow to market and grow your business.

Before you leave and quit for the day, DO the Number One item on your list to get a head start on tomorrow.

This will bring focus and ACTION into your business.
Thanks to: Walt Goshert of Marketing Caddy.

20. Interpret Your Dreams!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would use my 60 seconds to write down my dream in the morning as soon as I awaken. Dreams hold great potential. Every dream has a message to the dreamer about his/her own attitudes and state of awareness. Many dreams have inspired inventions, business ideas, music, art, and more! Monster.com was inspired by a dream, as was the song, "Yesterday" by Paul McCartney, the Periodic Table of Elements, the sewing machine, and more. Then, I'd learn to interpret my dreams for self understanding.

21. Secret of 3 Factories in 60sec

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: A beautiful quotation I read last week gave me a perfect answer to " Be a better Entrepreneur in 60 sec".

Entrepreneur should launch 3 factories:
1. Ice factory in the mind.
2. Sugar Factory in the mouth and
3. Love factory in the heart

Viola...secret is revealed...An entrepreneur must..

Thanks to: Naresh Vij of Kaveri Consultants, India.

22. The 60 Second Reader

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Ever hear about the 60 second novelist? Well I am the 60 second reader, meaning I will take 60 seconds to read something that will benefit me. I love self-help and self-development books. So every single day I take time out to read something that I know will help benefit me or my business in some way or another. It is important for self-growth.
Thanks to: Harry Husted of Creating Words.

23. Progress in 1 min. increments

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: One minute - I would alternate between two items:
Talking to one of my mentors on the phone and hammering out a question or two, visiting one of my favorite blogs that give me time-saving tips so that I would have more than a minute!

Tweeting a few articles that I have found helpful would also fill the minute.
Thanks to: Susan Finch of Susan Finch Web Solutions.

24. Clear Your Mind

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Go Deep - Clear Your Mind w/ Meditation

Taking 60 seconds to meditate can help provide clarity of intention. When we take a moment to sit with a quiet mind we create space for growth.

When you connect with yourself on this deeper lever you provide the space for creativity to grow, energy to replenish, and your entrepreneur spirit can soar.
Thanks to: Lori Fields of Real Beauty Is.

25. Mosquito Bites

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: It's been said that if you doubt the power of a single individual to effect change, then you've never been in bed with a mosquito!
You need not spend hours a day honing your entrepreneurial skills. One minute will do it. The "It"? Study your competitors. Learn from them. Imitate their best practices. Become your own mosquito!
Thanks to: Marlene Caroselli of Principled Persuasion.

26. Better Focus

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend my 60 seconds per day trying to learn more about my customers lifestyles. In doing so, I would discover other opportunities and venues to market to them and connect with them. The result would be more focused marketing and advertising, vs. spray and pray.
Thanks to: John Kelsey of WIlson Kelsey Design.

27. The Outsider Always Wins

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would recommend stepping outside for 60-seconds to breakdown mental blocks. You can find business ideas and solutions by just watching nature. Sit quietly and focus on a business challenge - then let you mind wander to take in all the sights, sounds and smells of Mother Nature. Did you notice the bee in the flower? How can you "pollinate" with other companies to grow? Is the grass long and lush? How can you "fertilize" your own business? Before you know it, the answers and ideas will POP!
Thanks to: Sandie Glass of Sandstorm inc..

28. Change 1 Thing From Yesterday

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Being a solopreneur makes you a quick learner because you feel that you don't have a bunch of time to take classes. If you have just 1 minute each day, change one action from a lesson learned the previous day. You learn by doing only if you use the lesson learned. So at the end of the day I take 15-20 seconds and ask myself, what did I learn today. The next day I use take 40-45 seconds in the morning to do "that" differently or to write it down if it's something I must do as the occasion arises.
Thanks to: Kate Nasser of The People-Skills Coach, CAS, Inc..

29. E-myth

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would slowly work my way through the e-myth and when done I would read it again, it covers so many of the problems entrepreneurs face and has a new meaning every time you read it for a different phase of business.
Thanks to: Andrea Travillian of Smart Step, Inc.

30. Network like it's 1950

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Taking an extra 60 seconds per day, I'd use it to send a personal note to a valuable networking contact. Not a text or an email - a handwritten note. We all know the value of personal relationships in any business, and this helps you stick out from the crowd. I've been amazed at the responses I get from handwritten notes. If only I could do it more!
Thanks to: Nathaniel Broughton of SuretyBonds.com.

31. 60 Second Positive Affirmation

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I am a BIG believer in the power of positive thinking, and positive affirmations to yourself. So, if I had just 60 seconds, I would read my list of positive affirmations out loud to myself every day. It puts you in the right mindset for success. Affirmations are written in present tense (I am...) and as though you have already achieved them (I am attracting the right people to my business). When you read these out loud to yourself every day, you set in motion the power of your subconscious.
Thanks to: Laura Aridgides of OrganizeNOW.

32. Make a Connection

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Since business is about people, I would make an additional connection with a prospect, customer, vendor or business partner. This could be through email or the phone!
Thanks to: Barry Moltz of Shafran Moltz Group.

33. Just Do You!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: There is NOTHING more important than expressing YOUR passion and authenticity.

I don't care if you're an artist, entrepreneur, or a comedian who likes to chant naked (oh sorry, that one's mine) whatever your truth is will be a HUGE part of your success as an entrepreneur.

The bottom line is, it's ALL about serving people, and people will flock to you in masses if you write, talk, or make a video etc. even for 1 minute that FULLY expresses how passionate you are about how you serve them.
Thanks to: Scott Brandon Hoffman.

34. 60 Seconds to more Success!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: That is actually the name of one of the e-Zines that I publish!

Personally, the richest way that I can invest 60 seconds to be a better entrepreneur would be to spend it with one of my lifelines! The incredible people in my life who's achievements are an inspiration to me! One minute with them can fuel an entire week!
Thanks to: Ann Farrell of Quantum Endeavors, Inc. .

35. One minute to focus on goals

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Reviewing my goals is what I do every day and sometimes it doesn't even take a minute. I have them written and posted where I can see them, and I read them at least once a day. This really helps keep me focused. By reviewing my goals they stay top of mind and then as I'm going through my day I can check myself to make sure that what I'm doing is going to get me where I want to go. If it's not then I need to switch gears. I'm much more aware of how I spend my time when my goals are top of mind.
Thanks to: Dorothy Wolden of Creative Intuition.

36. Read, Rinse, Repeat

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I once read a 500 page book 2-3 pages at a time over about 4 years. The books I read slowly over a long period of time I remember best. The reason- spaced repetition.

Research shows that recall of what we learn falls off to 2% 16 days later. Contrast this with spaced repetition. If you repeatedly study anything 6 times spaced a minimum of 2 hours apart you will increase your retention to 62% for 5 years to life.

Try it- read, listen, watch 6 times, then apply what you learn.
Thanks to: Linda Pelekoudas of Strategy and Design Solutions.

37. The Bigger Picture

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Ask yourself..."What am I doing this for?" take a minute to visualize the goals that keep you going, even when things get tough. Look at a picture or a web site of the things you want to achieve for your family or the places you want to visit. Get that picture clear in your head, and then begin doing something productive that will get you closer to the goal. A visual reminder of the bigger picture, often gets us back on track.
Thanks to: Jhan Dolphin of j robert Consulting.

38. 1 Minute to Network

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Even if we only have 30 seconds each to introduce ourselves and our businesses, we can't spend a more valuable minute than one devoted to networking. As entrepreneurs, we are dependent on each other to fill the gaps in each other's knowledge base. Whether you learn something new or teach something new, the exchange of information provides a basis for personal and business growth, not to mention a potential new referral source.
Thanks to: Patricia Fragen of Strategic Office Solutions.

39. Set and review goals

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: The most important thing to do with 60 seconds every day is to set and review goals. Each day for 60 seconds review what goals you want to accomplish and where you are in achieving them. By doing this for 60 seconds every day your goals will become so burned into your mind you will do anything to achieve them.
Thanks to: Peter Geisheker of The Geisheker Group Marketing Firm.

40. Quote Your Inspiration

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If you have a favorite quote that you live by or one that motivates you make sure and read it everyday. Keep it somewhere (I keep mine on the visor in my car) where you can start your day off with motivation and just in case you need to remind yourself to keep moving forward. Every entrepreneur has a quote that they refer to or that touched them in some way so use it to your ability and stay motivated... "We fail over and over, but that is how we learn to succeed."
Thanks to: Ashley Bodi of BusinessBeware.Biz.

41. In The Next 60 Seconds

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: As the Home Office Mommy with just 60 seconds a day to generate sales, my Junior Apprentice and I would publish an audio testimonial from another website. Then we'd post it on our blog and other online networks with a link and a thank you to a blogger just like you Mike! I would teach my little one how to give to others online and off!

Believe well!

Adelaide

P.S. In fact, there are times when it feels like 60 seconds is all I have! HA!
Thanks to: Adelaide Zindler of HomeOfficeMommy.com.

42. Small adds to big parts

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would pick out something that needs improvement in my business. I would spend 60 seconds each day until it was accomplished. You have to take time out each day to learn, develop, and take action.
Thanks to: Craig Collins of Hidden Sports Recruit.

43. Everyone's got to eat . . .

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: . . . so spend a minute a day sending a note to someone inviting them to lunch. You'll enjoy the "break" from your busy day, and you may just get a great idea or make a valuable connection that will help move your business forward.

Thanks to: Scott Swanay of Fantasy Baseball Sherpa.

44. Less is often more!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Throughout the day I take just 1 to 3 minutes as I can to close my eyes, take some deep purposeful breaths, focus on my heart (sometimes actually putting my hand on my heart area) and get into a good feeling state. I learned this years ago from a book I read AND it took me as much time to apply it! When I do this throughout the day I more quickly get calm, clear and focused. I find I can handle situations with more poise and intellect and make better decisions throughout my day.
Thanks to: Patricia Weber of Business Coach for Introverts.

45. Improve your posture!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I know I'm biased, but I think taking 60 seconds to work on your posture is huge! Nothing slows down productivity and your ability to think clearly like headaches, neck pain, and being worried about developing a back hump!

I think spending 60 seconds getting some movement in your neck, shoulders, and back and them doing a short posture improving exercise routine will go a long way in how long you can be effective at work.
Thanks to: Natalie Cordova of ImproveMyPosture.com.

46. Read Around Your Niche

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Read a blog entry or article from a successful business person. You can even rotate and read a marketing blog on Monday's, a social media blog on Tuesday's, etc. Often articles can be delivered to your email or received through an RSS feed. I get lots of great info applying this strategy.
Thanks to: Janice Russell of Minding Your Matters.

47. Efficiency

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would read a page out of The 4 Hour Work Week and start to implement the ideas for automation that are mentioned in the book. The actions steps might need to be done on a weekend or evening, but once set up they will work tirelessly for your friend.
Thanks to: Dotty Scott of Premium Websites.

48. One best tip

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: 60 seconds is just enough time to send a re-connect email to a former client or a follow-up email to a prospective new one. And one email can jump start the dialogue that just could lead to a new -- and hopefully -- long-term engagement. In fact, I think I'll cut this short and connect with a former client right now....
Thanks to: Donna Ramer of StrategCations, Inc..

49. The One Minute Tête-à-Tête

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Have a quick heart-to-heart with yourself by taking three deep breaths and clearing your mind. This is always when the best ideas, either practical or creative, appear out of thin air.
Thanks to: Blair Broussard of Community Coffee Company.

50. 1 minute for improvements

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I spend a few moments each day focused on my company's vision and mission. I think about what our end result is destined to be and how we "make a difference." This time to focus keeps me working towards our goals and objectives.
Thanks to: Janet Boulter of Center Consulting Group.

51. A New Twist on an Old Favorite

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Go as deep as you can in a 60 second meditation and the entire time simply visualize yourself and FEEL FEEL FEEL EXACTLY what it is like to be what you consider you would need to be to be the "best entreprenuer/business owner" absolutely possible in your opinion. SEE the details - but more importantly FEEL what you would FEEL inside. In fact, even think of someone in that category you highly value and spend that 60 seconds with him as peers.
Thanks to: Kimberlee Hayward of Brilliant Marketing!.

52. One Minute of gratitude

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would have to say I would use my 1 minute to put more of Jesus in my business. Perhaps this minute required gratitude or maybe guidance. Perhaps it is spending that 1 minute seeking the how to from the Bible, since the Bible has answers for everything in life & business.

I will tell you a fact since putting Jesus front & center in business my business have exploded.
Thanks to: Robin Hardy of Robin Hardy Christian Bus Conslt.

53. Hold the Vision

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Spend 60 seconds with eyes closed focusing on your ultimate goal. Watch how your mind wanders, contradicts, raises objections. Holding a clear unobstructed idea/image for even 15 seconds is a challenge to most people. When you can do it for 15, go for 30, then 45. If you practice and can truly stay focused for a minute, seeing and feeling your goal, it will manifest with great ease. Worth a try, eh?
Thanks to: Aysha Griffin of GreenRoads Realty LLC.

54. Ask And You Shall Receive

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: In the book called The Magic Of Thinking Big there is a question you can ask yourself everyday, "How Can I Get Better?" When you start asking how you can get better to yourself and to others answers will be giving to you on how to improve with quantity and quality.
Thanks to: Derrick Hayes of WOE Enterprises .

55. One More Contact

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: You obviously can't meet everyone on earth, but it doesn't hurt to try. Send out one more email to a potential customer or partner or make one more sales call. That extra minute can really add up over the year, where 250+ additional emails or phone calls, just playing the odds, can lead to 25 good contacts and 5 new clients over that time span. Not bad for a minute a day!
Thanks to: Anthony Adams of Dallas Roofing Company.

56. Envision the traits of your #2

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If blessed with 60 seconds to invest in becoming a better entrepreneur, I would spend it succession planning...envisioning what traits, behaviors and performance levels my #2 person must have in order to be of tremendous value to me as the business leader, to my customers and to the sustainment and furthering of my organization. I would literally start to daydream of my next most valuable hire (MVH)! Then, network to locate this person, engage them and be ready to hire when opportunity hits!
Thanks to: John Haynes of Regeneration! Life & Biz Coaching.

57. Organize Your Thoughts!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Take a minute each day to organize your thoughts and write them down. You will be amazed to see how your day goes by smoothly and all the important tasks for the day gets done. This will leave you feeling accomplished. It will also free up at least 10-15 minutes or so to do exercise which will refresh your mind and improve your attitude!
Cheers!
Thanks to: Malini Hoover of www.iaam.com.

58. Breathe, Believe, Receive!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Activity runs in high in these days of change and focus can be distracted. If you only have one minute, close your eyes and begin a series of deep steady breaths. As you do so tension releases and a you enter a new awareness; quiet your mind and let inspiration flow. Those few moments may be the gateway to greatness with a spark of genuine inspiration. You can do it. Breathe, Believe, and Receive!
Thanks to: Judith Lukomski of Transitions Today.

59. One minute is enough to

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: read a favorite blog or web page, like the toiletpaperentrepreneur.com, or mine. I guess you are wondering why? Because when you take the time to read your favorite blog (which, by the way, does not have to be about business or your industry), you are taking your brain out of your stuff. That one minute re-energizes you. The other thing is, you never know how many ideas will come out of reading what someone else does. Try it. It works for me.
Thanks to: Roxana Nunez of AvidDiva Coaching.

60. Plan your day

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Plan your day according to priorities. I always prioritize based on time sensitivity as well as importance. Paying bills are both, messages on Facebook are somewhat important. Use of social networks are important, but factor that into your plan for the day. I suggest giving yourself a realistic window of time and even set alarms so you stop. It’s so easy to get lost for hours and you need to focus on priorities that will make that day a step towards getting you closer to your goals.

Thanks to: Marci Geller of Sonic Underground.

61. Invest in YOU...

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: As a young entrepreneur the best advice I could have ever been given was "Take time daily to learn and grow your mindset!" If you struggle with time, listen to CD's while showering, making dinner or in the car...MAKE TIME!
Here is what Jim Rohn has to say "Of all the things that can have an effect on your future, I believe personal growth is the greatest. We can talk about sales growth, profit growth, asset growth, but all of this probably will not happen without personal growth."
Thanks to: Cheryl Hill of Mia Bella "Green" Gifts.

62. Inspiration leads to change

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: 60 seconds is not much time to make improvement in and of itself. That time should inspire change outside that designated 60 seconds. To do this, I would get a book of inspirational quotes or short stories that lead to an improved change in your thought process, motivation, or outlook. Use your 60 seconds to read a quote or story and reflect on it. By doing this, you allow that 60 seconds to have a lasting impact on the rest of your day and even those around you.
Thanks to: Jim Gellas.

63. Share the Knowledge

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: It's not always important to think about yourself. You should spread the love and share your wealth of knowledge with others. Send a friend or colleague an interesting read or thought. Maybe even share some advice that can help another entrepreneur's business. Always be giving, and you will surely get something back.
Thanks to: Danny Wong of Custom Men's Dress Shirts | BL.

64. Use your 60 seconds to laugh

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I have noticed that I can get in serious moods when I am running my business' daily operations and everything turns into business; I need to quit being boring. Use your 60 seconds to find something that will make you laugh. Laughter to me brings forward motion, it gives me energy and makes me upbeat and it rubs off on those around me.
Laughing makes you a better entrepreneur because you will have fun and when you have fun, you make your best work!
Thanks to: Mike Schreurs of The Bridal Story.

65. Promote your FACE

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would post a short tip, promo, or niche related info on My Precious Kid business Facebook Fan page or blog. I post child safety information, safety product, recall or safety tips that keeps their kids safer. I want my followers/fan to get to see a consistent person behind the business & build the brand awareness. It is important for my followers to identify with My Precious Kid- Child Safety Store. My point is to help them think of my business when they think of child safety.
Thanks to: Kay Green of My Precious Kid LLC.

66. Keep Giving It Away

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: The first rule of entrepreneurship is delegation aka not wearing all the hats in your business. See the E-myth Revisited for clarification. Spend 60 seconds each day writing down all of the tasks that someone else could perform as well as or better than you. Then start delegating those tasks. Use your newly found time for expansion of yourself as an entrepreneur, rather than filling the time with routine tasks.
Thanks to: Leigh Kramer of Helicopter Marketing.

67. 60 Seconds to Focus

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: As entrepreneurs, we all have so many tasks every day - the list can get overwhelming. What I do is I take a minute to close my eyes and visualize all the big things I need to do that day and how they're all going to get done. It seems to set my focus for the day and get me off to a good start. The list seems less monumental, I get more done and the little things fit in more easily, too.
Thanks to: Lizzy Shaw of Lizzy Shaw Public Relations.

68. EXPLORE, ASK & TAKE ACTION

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I had only 30 seconds each day to make me a better Entrepreneur I would EXPLORE the opportunities that are all around me by expanding myself on social media, I would ASK my clients and customers what they need, I would take ACTION to implement new and exciting things that would help others and make a difference.
Thanks to: Robbie Motter of Robbiemotterdbacontactsunlimited.

69. Silence is Golden!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend a minute just being quiet, still and engaged in reviewing where I was and where I need to go. As an entrepreneur who is busy all day, multitasking, I sometimes lose the bigger view and need to regroup to realign all the details and tasks to move my dream forward! Paying attention quietly for a single minute can create an opening for a huge discovery.
Thanks to: Alice A March of The Attention Factor (R).

70. Filling the pipeline

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Spend that one minute learning how to better fill up your sales pipeline with qualified prospects. You can read a sales/marketing book, blog or website to get more familiar with how to do this. Or you can just jump into the lead generation waters and learn by doing (i.e., finding qualified sales prospects for your business.)
Thanks to: JR Rodrigues of Job Hunt Express.

71. Read, Read, Read!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Learning is constant if you're a (successful) entrepreneur. I am too interested in the quickly changing world to ever become complacent with my business. I am constantly reading blogs (thanks Mike!), 'how to' books, and searching out ways to do things better and keep up with the times. So many ideas to keep improving things! I save things to read when I have the time. In 60 seconds I could pick up a new tip, be inspired by someone, or get the info I need to tweak my website. Never stop reading!
Thanks to: Kelly Lester of EasyLunchboxes.com.

72. Create Raving Fans

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: At 60 seconds a day of reading the deceptively simple book RAVING FANS by Ken Blanchard and Sheldon Bowles you would finish it in a short period of time and have learned a tremendous amount. Then re-read it over and over again in your 60 seconds a day to keep you motivated to implement the ideas in your own business. (You can come up with implementation action steps while in the shower.)
Thanks to: Phyllis Zimbler Miller of Miller Mosaic Power Marketing.

73. 1 minute daily = 12 hrs a year

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I'd be working on the job description and ad for my next employee.
Thanks to: Jim Plouffe of www.BusinessConsultingThatWorks.

74. My All-Important One Minute

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Since I'm a huge believer in the power of Gratitude, I take one minute at 11:11 every day just to say thank you to the Universe (or whatever power you may believe in).

I spend that minute reminding myself that I'm blessed in many wonderful ways -- including being able to do what I truly LOVE for a living. For the past twenty years, I've found that being grateful is an irresistable magnet for bringing even MORE good into my life. Try it...I KNOW it works!
Thanks to: Gary Anderson of ABC Iowa Writing & Editing.

75. Take a breath!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Breathe deeply into your belly, feet grounded on the floor for one minute and you will be re-focused!
Thanks to: Marjorie Rand.

76. 60 Seconds to Improve

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I only had 60 seconds to focus on becoming a better entrepreneur, I would definitely spend it on someone else's website or blog. As a business owner, we sometimes operate in a vacuum. It can difficult to be creative and to explore the possibilities when we are in the office, head down, grinding out the work. I find that I get my best ideas when I come up for air and see what others are doing and what they're writing about. I get inspired and find creativity I didn't think I had.
Thanks to: Traci Ellis of Traci D. Ellis, Esq. LLC.

77. Plan

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Improve your entrepreneurial pursuits in one minute by planning your best moves. Scan the calendar, review your projects, and jot down the best things to do with the time available. Move forward toward your goals with purpose and planning.
Thanks to: Alison Moore Smith of Easy Blog Setup.

78. Need a Vision Break?

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Hey entrepreneur, can you imagine the world without your business? If you can, then you lack vision for your company. I take my 60 seconds to imagine the world with out Taylored Athletes and the many youth who would be left without our awesome teaching, basketball camps, and mentors. I call this my "Vision Break", 60 seconds of pure focus on where my company is a this moment and where it needs to go when my break is over.
Thanks to: James Taylor of Taylored Athletes, Inc..

79. 2 magazines on my radar

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: With a mere 60 seconds, I'd pick up either an Inc or Success magazine and read a short article.

There are so many quick tips and inspirational quotes inside these two publication that I rarely find a boring page to read.

Thanks to: Alexis Avila of Prepped & Polished.

80. One Minute Scores!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: One minute per day to improve - is it worthwhile to consider? Treat that 60 seconds each day as your gold nugget. I would use that precious time to Prioritize what absolutely had to get done each day. List one key word for each task as a reminder. Prioritize by the biggest money-maker, what will catapult your business, and finally email. Prioritizing in this manner will literally only take a minute, eliminate much wasted time, projects complete and you will grow your business more quickly.
Thanks to: Elinor Stutz of Smooth Sale, LLC.

81. A Metaphysical Minute

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Get a copy of Deepak Chopra's Seven Spiritual Laws of Success and take a minute to read a paragraph or two.

Improving entrepreneural skills is not just about learning to work more effectively, but also learning to develop inituition, an attitude of gratefulness and an ever expanding sense of possibility and potential.

Chopra reminds us success is not just about money, prestige and fame. Good things to recognize as we make our way in the entrepreneural world.
Thanks to: Tammy Brackett of Moonstruck Promotions.

82. Hug Your Inspiration

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: When I lose focus & become weary, I simply stop, take a deep breath & hug my daughter. This brief moment of bonding helps me put things in perspective & remind me of my "why". My daughter Gem, a mentally handicapped child, is the very reason I became an entrepreneur - to create work opportunity for her which would otherwise be limited or unavailable, & build a business that would provide her a quality life long after I'm gone.
Thanks to: Ros Guerrero of Ficklets, LLC.

83. 1-Minute Power Abs!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Like any entrepreneur, one's work schedule is often demanding and can be stressful. If I had only 1 minute a day to be exclusively focused on being a better entrepreneur, the choice would be to work my abs -- situps and crunches. I enjoy working out and find that to be a great stress reducer. When traveling for business, I always find time in my hotel room to do situps and crunches. When I'm feeling physically fit, I tend to be a lot more creative and productive.
Thanks to: Greg Jenkins of Bravo Productions.

84. Think!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Most entrepreneurs, most people in fact, don't spend enough time thinking. If I could only spend one minute a day to improve, I would make sure I had one thing every day to think about - a problem, issue, challenge whatever. Pick one a day and spend time thinking about it.
Thanks to: Frances Schagen.

85. Visualize what you want

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Take 60 seconds a day to visualize what you want for you and for your company. Each day, spend one minute conjuring up details about what your business and your life will be like when you've reached the level of success you want. How many hours will you work? How much revenue will you bring in? Will you have more employees? Will you eventually sell the company for millions of dollars? Spend this time getting clear on your vision and before you know it, it will begin to unfold.
Thanks to: Erin Baebler of Magnolia Workshop.

86. Got a minute?

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: For one minute, do nothing.

That's all folks: for one minute, close your eyes and do nothing, think nothing, just breathe and mentally catch your breath. With practice, you'll find this simple exercise can dramatically increase your concentration and energy.

Remember, it's the silence between the notes that makes the music.
Thanks to: Stephen Balzac of 7 Steps Ahead.

87. Remember Your Successes

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Write down all of your business successes for the day. No matter how big or small, write them down and be thankful for them. By having an attitude of gratitude you will bring more opportunities and success into your business and your life.
Thanks to: Jillian Koeneman of Freshlime: Digital Marketing.

88. 1 minute 4 optimum performance

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: As an online business owner, keeping my website in the top page rankings is essential. So if I had only 1 minute a day to spend on my business, I would take that minute and make sure my website is optimized. Each page should have all my keywords strategically placed. I would make sure the website is easy to navigate and that all my links are active. I would also Keep the content fresh and up to date and the pages visually appealing.
Thanks to: Darline Turner-Lee of Mamas on Bedrest & Beyond.

89. Priorities

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Always care more about client outcomes than your own income. Results generate multilateral success. Everyone deserves a winnable game worth playing is my mantra.
Thanks to: Scott Degraffenreid of Necessary Measures.

90. Refocus In 60 Seconds or Less

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I find it important to take a moment to refocus. In this way I will be able to best drive my motivations for both personal and for my company. Within this process I reevaluate time spent with loved ones, time spent alone and time spent with corporate opportunities. It is like a time flex-account.
Thanks to: Jeff Schoener of Neuro-Enhancement Strategies.

91. 60 Seconds

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend that time on a web forum focused on my business. It's a great way to pick up tips and tricks that can be easily adapted to my business. And, if I find something that I feel I can answer, I'd probably spend an extra five minutes crafting a response.
Thanks to: Phyllis Harber-Murphy of More Than 9 2 5 Virtual Assistance.

92. one minute read

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: read Seth Godin's blog at http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/. He always makes me think positively and how I can do better.
Thanks to: Kate Putnam of Package Machinery Co Inc..

93. The One Minute Miracle

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: The most beneficial thing an entrepreneur could and should do with an extra 60 seconds a day is..“Review their Business Plan”

Starting the day with a review of the objectives & strategies set for your company makes your business plan become a powerful living document, not something collecting dust on a shelf.

The review ensure the actions and activities you do today support the critical success factors of your business and reminds you to work on the important, not just the urgent!
Thanks to: Cindy Hartigan of Spectra Learning Group.

94. A 60-second "code"

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: This tip is going to sound a bit spiritual—for some it may be. But more important is it works—amazingly—because it is firmly rooted in brain science. Try it—just once.

Before you got to bed at night, say out loud, what I call a "committed vow" something like this: 'I am absolutely committed to the best manifestation of (state your goal).' Then select a natural 1st step you can do the next day in support of that goal. Say that out loud, too. For the full "Code," see my website.

Thanks to: Mike Blackstone of Project Butterfly Code.

95. Turn the Tables for 1 Minute

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: So many of us are bogged down in day-to-day work, that we never step back and look at our business, product or system from the client's view. Take a minute to pull back and put yourself in the client's seat. Go through the ordering process. It'll show you where your problems are and give you ideas on how to improve. You may even find a new business idea!
Thanks to: Christina Zila of Textbroker.com.

96. Read 2 remind

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Select a few blogs to read daily. these will remind you of things you need to do or remember or learn to be more successful and they are all FREE. Harvard Business Review, Seth Godin, TUT.com and yes even TPE to name a few or read discussion groups on LinkedIn. It doesn't take more than 60 seconds to read one per day and the sound bytes can be a great mental stimulus.
Thanks to: Harriet Cohen of Training Solutions.

97. Just Breathe

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: The best thing to do for yourself and your business in 60 seconds is breathe. Find a nice quiet space, shut the door, turn everything off, whatever it is you need to do. Get into a comfy position, close your eyes and take nice, long, deep breaths. Try to keep it as smooth as possible. Don't think about anything except the breath. Inhale. Exhale. At the end of your 60 seconds, you'll be more relaxed and better able to focus on what needs to be done to rock it out!
Thanks to: Melinda Massie of Melinda Massie Events.

98. Focus on Success

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Entrepreneurs constantly perform the roles of leader, rainmaker, therapist, fire marshal, referee, floor sweeper and more. So with these constant distractions, how do you grow your business? I start every day by spending a minute deciding what tasks I need to complete to make the day productive and successful. Hitting these goals gives me a sense of accomplishment, while wearing those other hats, while necessary is merely the cost of being the boss. And that won't get you to the next level.
Thanks to: Michael Sisti of Sisti & Others, Inc..

99. Systemize It

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: List the 5 things you do repeatedly in your business that could benefit from a written process. Each day, write another step in that process until you have an entire documented process that you can delegate to someone else.
Thanks to: Christine Giri of Time Tamer Consulting.

100. Sew It Up In 60

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: My observation has been that many entrepreneurs lack cohesive relationships with the majority of their customers. Spending 60 seconds a day opening dialogue with a past customer or fan of the book is a daily practice of mine. Adding that personal touch makes customers feel important and connected to what you're doing. Don't care how much you show, show how much you care...and they'll probably come back for more.
Thanks to: Asadah Kirkland of Beating Black Kids - The book.

101. Turbocharge Your Reading Speed

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Read 10 Days to Faster Reading by Abby Marks Beale. At 60 seconds a pop, it'll take longer than 10 days, but you'll pick up great tips for consuming information. Stick with it, and the productivity gains will allow you to spend more than 60 seconds keeping on top of your game.
Thanks to: Mistina Picciano of Market It Write.

102. Better Results in 1 Minute/Day

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: What can you do in 60 seconds?
You can make a significant change to your future results. Spend one minute at the beginning of your day identifying the 1 thing you can do today that will have the greatest impact. What is it? What do you need to do to accomplish it? When will you do it? Identify that one thing, schedule it, and write out success criteria so you know when you've accomplished it. Over time, those 60 seconds will pay you greater dividends than you can imagine.
Thanks to: Katie Tingley of The Tingley Advantage.

103. 60 Secs: Gratitude and Focus

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I'd start with gratitude. I hope we can get off the hamster treadmill of go-go-go with little time for reflection. So start with gratitude. Review what has gone well. Reinforce it: What you focus on will be drawn more readily into your life. Be excited by all the good that has *already* occurred! Then focus: How can I create more good in my life and the lives of others? What are the top 1-2 priorities which can bring about more of this goodness and value into our business world and communities?
Thanks to: Pamela Hawley of UniversalGiving.

104. Think & Grow Rich....

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Thanks to Napoleon Hill I'm sure we've all heard of the "Think & Grow Rich" philosophy. If you only have 60 seconds a day, then use it to stare at your vision board that should be right in front of your desk...as you are looking at it, repeat your goals out loud like you already have them. Repetition is key to training our subconscious minds to attract to us what we most desire. Think away, TPE's!!!
Thanks to: Jocelyn Wiebe of AmeriPlan.

105. 60 Second Connection

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: My 60-second suggestion is to make a call and say something nice, something positive to the person you speak to. A quote or positive affirmation to help brighten their day and maybe help them to do better at focusing on something going on in their lives, whether personal or business.
Thanks to: Janette Buckhaulter of Success Transcripts.

106. A Page a Day...

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: A page a day will put your fears away. A page of the classic book Scientific Advertising by Claude C. Hopkins. I'm currrently reading it and IT IS AWESOME. Very easy read, written in the early 1900's and STILL holds true to this day. A true classic. Here is the best part: IT'S FREE because it is now on public domain, no copyright so you can look it up and print it. I literally found mine by accident. Worth every minute since you don't have to spend a thin dime on it. Get it now!
Thanks to: Edwin Soler of Libreria Berea.

107. Attract a Lead Steer Customer

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: In my entrepreneurial journeys, there have always been just a few potential customers who would bring in hundreds or even thousands of others. If I had just one minute a day, I would think about different ways to attract such customers.
Thanks to: Donald Mitchell of The Four Hundred Year Project.

108. 60 Seconds to be No. 1

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Being a successful entrepreneur (or successful anything) is a mindset. For this reason, my 60 second difference maker is beginning the day reading Vince Lombardi's "What it Takes to be No. 1." No matter what challenges the day may bring, this passage provides a powerful mindset for responding to those challenges.

Thanks to: Jason Shinn of E-Business Counsel, PLC.

109. Reflect. (Oh Cliché!)

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Very often than not, we entrepreneurs, lose track of our own goals and aspirations as the business takes on a life of its own. Many of us fall prey to working "in" our business when we should be working 'on' our business.

Take one minute to reflect on you business' size, scope, vision, goals, and journey so far, integrate your financial, family and other personal goals into this thought and answer one simple question: Is this what I really want? If yes, keep moving; if no...(time for change)
Thanks to: Devesh Dwivedi of Entrepreneur In Making.

110. Feel the Energy of Books

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Don't have time to READ a whole book? Do this powerful technique: FEEL the energy of the book by simply turning each page and glancing at the white spaces between the words, and also touching each page with your hand while touching your heart with your other hand - let the energy flow through you. Even if you don't understand the info, it will be inside your subconscious mind and your heart, ready to be awakened when you need it - just set the intention for it to happen.
Thanks to: Kundan Chhabra of Feel Loved Right Now.

111. Refreshing "Power Pause"

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Gotta minute? You can refresh and regroup with a 60 second "Power Pause".
This is the perfect time to Visualize and meditate your desires. Picture how you want it to be. Small effort for big results and outcomes.
Thanks to: Carolyn Bartz of WITH PEN IN HAND .

112. Turn Everything Off

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Turn off the TV and disconnect from the Internet.
Thanks to: Kris Brower of Kris Brower.

113. GONE in 60 Seconds

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: (Get Offline Now Execute)
I find that there is so much noise across my media channels. While some of it is helpful in my daily efforts to grow Suite Arrival, much of it can be a distraction and make it difficult for me to stick to my game plan which I lay out every morning.

So when I feel myself unable to karate shop the ice blocks I get offline and breath for a minute. Then I plug back in and execute.
Thanks to: Michael Lewis of SuiteArrival.com.

114. Do This EVERY Day

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I only had one minute to do something as an Entrepreneur or CEO that would make a HUGE difference in my company - this is what I'd do:

In one minute every day, I'd quickly jot down the TOP 5 things to do. Put them in Order of Importance. And start on Item 1.

It's about getting the critical few things done. Not about the important many.
Thanks to: Cameron Herold of BackPocket COO.

115. Name the Game

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Every day you must decide on the critical task for that day. So many of us start and end each day with a massive "to do list" that we feel defeated. By clarifying THE task for the day you set yourself up for more success. Anything you accomplish over and above is a bonus, and nothing breeds success like success. When you feel overwhelmed, refocusing on the critical mission for your day gets you back on track & enables you to say "no" to things that don't contribute to the core task of the day.
Thanks to: Karen Southall Watts of Karen Southall Watts.

116. Think, Read Every Day and Grow

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I suggest that every Entrepreneur get and read a copy of Napolean Hills 1937 book, Think and Grow Rich. After reading it the first time, they should ready a passage everyday for 60 seconds. If they do and they are receptive to the message it delivers, their lives will surely change for the better and they will meet with success. Mine has.
Thanks to: Sara Morgan of Custom Solutions.

117. Crazy dance for crazy cash

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: For one minute each morning, I would dance like a crazy person, all-out, limbs flailing, shaking out the cobwebs, loosening the joints, and getting all the synapses firing in the brain. Oh yeah... And have a darn good time too. I'm telling you.. It can work wonders for your business! And give you a nice morning JOLT to boot.
Thanks to: Christina Morassi of Shamanic Photographer.

118. Creating Success in One Minute

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I had one minute to do one thing, I would visualize my success. I’d think about what I want for myself and my business, what the ideal situation looks like, how I feel, what I am experiencing, and so on. I would make the vision as well-rounded and complete as possible. Doing this would create greater focus and clarity throughout the work day as I make decisions about what opportunities to pursue (and take on), what my priorities are, and what I want my life to look like.
Thanks to: Alaia Williams of One Organized Business.

119. Enough time to keep in touch

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: One extra minute would allow me to send one quick "Get back into touch" email to recconnect with an old colleague, client, vendor friend or even family member.

Can you imagine the networking results after sending just one per day for a full year?
Thanks to: Zachary Weiner of Luxuryreach Inc.

120. Doodle the day away

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would waste time and doodle away. Doodling lets the mind wander and the imagination kick into high gear. I would go where ever the doodle takes me. You never know where a squiggly line and some imagination will end up! Often, it's to new ideas and innovative thinking!

Thanks to: Tamara Kleinberg of Imaginibbles.com.

121. Reach Upwards!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Send one email to a contact that you thought was previously out of reach. For example, if you can get the contact information from the editor-in-chief of your industry's trade magazine, now is the time to get your foot in the door. You don't need to set up a project or define working parameters. This is about becoming a blip on their radar so that in the future, the scene is set to meet with them. I do this regularly and it's expanded our business more than hiring a PR firm ever could!
Thanks to: Jordan Harbinger of The Art of Charm.

122. Read just one page a day!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: The new book "Rework" by Jason Fried and David Heinemeier Hansson is fresh and brilliant, and set up in easily-digestible mini-chapters (often just a page or two). You can literally read a chapter in about a minute, and learn a new perspective for business, your business, every day. It has taken me more than 20 years to learn what I could have in an hour or two from Messrs. Fried and Hansson.
Thanks to: David Sears of YouFloral.com.

123. Yummy Coffee!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would drink as much coffee as I possibly could in 1 minute. Should make the rest of my day much more productive!
Thanks to: Jordan Gottlieb of Go Green Fundraising.

124. If Only For A Minute

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I only had one minute to spend on working to become a better entrepreneur, I would spend that time meditating on how to become a more authentic entrepreneur. The riches are in the niches.
Thanks to: Wendy Franklin Muhammad of The Authentic You, LLC.

125. Spiritual Board of Directors

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I'd spend the minute quieting down and conversing with my spiritual "Board of Directors". Those guys usually have some pretty awesome advise. Imagine it as "meeting" with a group of business and life guides in meditation. Very powerful.
Thanks to: Claudia Langford of Joyfully Great Happiness Coaching.

126. Rapid Fire To Do List

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Take 60 seconds every morning to brainstorm everything you need to accomplish for the day. Create a rough, messy To Do list. Don't worry about ordering your priorities; just get every task, assignment, meeting, phone call, etc. down on paper. Once you can visualize everything that's on your plate, it's much easier to stay on track and get things done.
Thanks to: David Reich of SixEstate Communications.

127. The Business Devotional

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I read an entry from The Business Devotional by Lillian Hayes Martin each day. It's got a short thought for each day from business leaders like John Wooden, Warren Buffet, Peter Drucker, Bill Gates, etc. Each entry is a couple paragraphs and can be quickly read in the morning before you start your day. Gives me something to think about, helps me consider new ways to improve, and is short enough to not take up too much of my time.
Thanks to: Marc Mackenzie of Just Eyewear.

128. Pray for an idea

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend 30-seconds asking God to reveal a profitable growth idea, open my eyes and spend the remaining 30-seconds looking around for something to improve or invent.
Thanks to: Tom Pryor of Small Business Development Center .

129. Future Letter Feeds Success

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would read my Future Letter. It's a letter dated December 31, 2010, and celebrates all the business growth and personal achievements I've had as though they've already happened. After reading this letter, I'm a more focused, motivated, and active entrepreneur.
Thanks to: Kelly Ikenberry of Authentic Action Coaching.

130. Daily Ping Makes My Phone Ring

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I had only one minute a day to boost my career as an entrepreneur,
I would use that minute to post a link to an article I wrote, using Ping. Ping would instantly put the link onto my Twitter, Facebook, Plaxo, LinkedIn, and MySpace sites.
Thanks to: Bill Lampton, Ph.D. of Championship Communication.

131. Create A Daily To-Do List

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: For many entrepreneurs, it is hard to know when the workday ends because the list of things to do can be never-ending. To combat that feeling create a to-do list that contains just the things that must happen during that day. It'll keep you focused, motivated and allow you to end the day with a feeling of accomplishment.
Thanks to: Jennie Vinson of Mission First Marketing.

132. 1 Minute to Improve

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Every day I take a minute to read my goals and my vision out loud. I think that is something that everyone has time for and I believe that it is something that will greatly help me throughout the future. Not only is this a constant reminder of why you are where you are, it is also a great motivator and seems to have an effect on creativity. I laughed when I first heard this, but after giving it a try, I would definitely recommend it to anyone.
Thanks to: Jeffrey Cumro of Better Life Chiropractic & Wellness.

133. Find your position

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend the 60 seconds per day for as many days as needed trying to determine exactly what makes you different from all of your competitors. If you truly believe that there is nothing to differentiate your business from your competitors, spend 60 seconds per day for as many days as needed trying to create a unique position.
Thanks to: Greg Digneo of Cloud Marketing Labs.

134. Learn from Other Entrepreneurs

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Read how-to’s and tips from other entrepreneurs to exercise your mind and be open to new opportunities. You'll always learn something new and interesting.
Thanks to: Linda Tong of KindNotes.

135. Feeling Life

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If you take one minute to change your life and business, simply sit quietly, slowly breathing, and just become aware of the space around you, your breath, your thoughts, etc., kind of a mini meditation. Contrary to popular belief, success in business is not due to hard work alone. It's also dependent on breaking the narrow focus stressful attention to allow an opening in the psycho-physics of life. Your state of mind sffects what goes on around you so just relax..at least for a minute.
Thanks to: craig wolfe of CelebriDucks.

136. Daily Introspection

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I practice this every day. Before closing the office, I review my task list for the day. Rather than focusing on the accomplishments (for that minute), I focus on those goals that I did not achieve and put them on the top of the list of tomorrow's action items. I also ask myself why I did not get them done (time, other priorities or , most important, did I rational-lies something I did not want to do).

By simply reading 1 minute a day from the Book- Take Action Now: How to live you dreams in less than 3 weeks. ( Amazon & Kindle) You will double your sales in one year! I guarantee it! 138. Imagine the Results

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: As an Entrepreneur I become better in 1 minute each day by reviewing my vision, then closing my eyes imagining what achieving it would look like, feel like and how it would improve my life. Doing this helps cope with day-to-day demands, but more importantly it reminds me to build time into my schedule each week to focus on moving towards my vision which is my driving force. Having this image crisp and clear at all times helps when things appear not to be moving forward at all.

139. Follow Your Own Best Advice

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Ask yourself the following question: “Am I following my own best advice?” Step out of yourself, step out of your situation, and look at everything objectively, as if you were a coach or consultant to yourself. What advice would you give this person? How would you tell this business to grow? When I came up with this idea a couple of years ago, I started doing it for a couple of minutes every day and about 20 minutes every Monday – single best thing I’ve ever done for my business.
Thanks to: Scott Allen of Social Media Is My Middle Name.

140. Mini-Brainstorm

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Find a problem or unmet need in your market. Clear your mind and spend 60 seconds thinking of ways to address the problem or need. You don't need to figure out all the implementation details, just brainstorm possible solutions - and write them down. You will likely come up with additional solutions as the day goes on because your mind keeps working after the 60 seconds!
Thanks to: Steve Sponseller of Innovation Strategies, Inc..

141. A Call for No Reason At All

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would call one person a day and thank them for the difference they have made for me, in my life and my business. And I would do it for no reason at all. Not as a follow up, or to build a better relationship, or to make another sale. I would do it just to get present, for myself, to the privilege it is to earn a living as an entrepreneur and to be surrounded by such bold and brave people doing the same thing. I would start with my business partners, employees, vendors, competitors and customers.
Thanks to: Jenny Pellitteri of Jenny and Jimbob.

142. Make a Lunch Date

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Take sixty seconds a day to make a lunch date with someone who might be able to help you. It will keep you constantly networking and learning. Your lunch dates should range from perspective clients to potential partners to experts on the industry ... someone each day that you can learn from or connect with.
Thanks to: Jim Joseph of Lippe Taylor.

143. Plan, Plan, Plan

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I only had 60 extra seconds a day I would spend it evaluating my schedule to see if it's helping me reach my long term goals. Completing daily tasks is like moving from waypoint to waypoint on a trail. Take a moment to reference the map and make sure you're heading in the right direction.
Thanks to: Jeff Gorden of Eagle Commercial Realty Services.

144. The Single Most Vital Aspect

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I only had one minute a day to focus on being a better entrepreneur, I'd spend that minute focusing on my customers: who they are, what they need, what they want, what issues they face, how their businesses are likely to change in the future, what those changes could mean to my business, etc. etc.
Thanks to: Barry Maher of Barry Maher.

145. Keep it Simple!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Among the many challenges facing entrepreneurs it's critical to stay focused on priorities. Regarding the 4 key areas for business success – financial growth and sustainability, operational excellence, taking care of customers, and innovation, growth or organization learning – spend one minute every day identifying a simple thing you could that day in each of these areas to further your success.
Thanks to: Mallary Tytel of Healthy Workplaces.

146. Being Bold - The Key to Succes

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I remind myself to be BOLD, because that is the key to acquiring the career, relationships and adventure I crave.
Thanks to: Rob Wilson of Jumpstart Your Meeting!.

147. Visualize Your Way

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If you only have 1 minute what I recommend you do is spend that time visualizing and feeling the results you want out of your business.

even one minute of intense visualization can yield surprising results, over time you will most likely find yourself doing this several times a day.

The more you work at it the stronger the images, and positive feelings will become. The stronger the images become and feelings become the more positive and energized you will feel.
Thanks to: Rene Beaulieu of SECURaGLOBE Solutions Inc.

148. 1 Minute to More Focus & Value

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: One minute isn't enough to get to know a target market better, seek out venture capital, or implement a new marketing plan, so if I had just one minute to become a better entrepreneur, I would spend it meditating. Meditation has a wonderful way of redirecting your energy and focus on what's most important. You can use a guided meditation to focus on bringing more value and excellence to your clients and customers. Plus, it's great for reducing stress.
Thanks to: Susan Baroncini-Moe of Business in Blue Jeans.

149. Look Back

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: At day's end, reflect for one minute on the first major completed action that comes to mind. Identify one lesson learned from it and how might it help guide you going forward. It can be something you have done well, a new relationship or a mistake you now know how to avoid. Jot it down on a list of tips to yourself, to look back when you might need inspiration in the future.
Thanks to: Oana Hogrefe of Oana Hogrefe Photography.

150. Pray & Obey

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If the lack of motivation
Has got you in a funk
If you only have a minute
To release this bit of junk
Then close your eyes
and pray a prayer
And may your burden be lifted without a care

Thanks to: Kim Billings of OneSimus.

151. Reach Out And Touch Someone

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Take that 60 seconds, modify an existing form letter and send it to a potential customer or business prospect. Just say "hi", or tell them of something that is new in your business, or a new service that you are offering, or just introduce yourself.
Thanks to: Carl Forsell of Connections Planet.

152. Pay it Forward!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: As entrepreneurs we all pretty much learned quickly that "it's" all about relationships. If we're good at what we do people refer business our way. I've secured most of my clients as a result of someone else's referral.

I'd spend my 60 seconds, selling the services of someone who has helped me - even if I could provide the service myself! A fellow entrepreneur who supported me in my efforts that has provided a priceless resource to me in the past - a referral.

I'd pay it forward!
Thanks to: Ericka Alston of Pyramid PR.

153. Visualize what is important

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: With all the distractions you encounter in your day. Use the 60 seconds to visualize what you really want and re-energize yourself. Why are you in business? Take the time to think about the 3 most important things that are important to you. That should give you the boost to get you going or to push on.
Thanks to: David Edey of SiteSell.com.

154. 1 min of focus= productivity

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I could only spend one minute a day to be a better entrepreneur, this minute would be spent reading my goals so I stay focused on the most important things. One minute of focus can lead to hours of productivity on my top priority items and help me say no to the things that aren't in alignment with my goals.
Thanks to: Stacey Hylen of Business Optimizer Coach.

155. Switch Off Logic, Be Creative

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: 60seconds is much longer than you think and if you switch off the logic and process driven mind in these 60 seconds and use your creative mind and inner thoughts you can achieve more in 60 seconds by simply "being" than in 60hrs of logical thought process actions.

Create yourself a powerful vision board and take just 60 seconds a day to relax, turn of the left brain functions, and simply be as you look at your vision for the future. Visioning and vision boards create inspirational power
Thanks to: Carol Dodsley of Choose Changes.

156. Make a connection!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend my one minute each day talking with a different person on my team giving them positive feedback, rewarding the right performance and behaviors, asking how they are doing, and asking how I can help them: in other words, my time would be spent building relationships and making connections with each person such that they are loyal to the company. It’s a no-brainer: high employee engagement and satisfaction leads to happy and productive employees … and that’s good for business!
Thanks to: Monique Honaman of ISHR Group.

157. 1 Minute to Financial Freedom!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: When I'm getting discouraged in my business and wonder why the heck I went down this entrepreneurial path in the first place, I try to remember to stop everything and just take a minute to quietly focus on what financial freedom means to me and my family. That's why I struck out on my own, and that's what pulls me back on track.

Every. Single. Time.

AND, I'm able to think "outside of the box" again. I find that I not only move forward, but I move forward in new and exciting directions!
Thanks to: Stephanie Lee of Scratchpad Secretaries.

158. Laughter is the Best Medicine

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Listening to my son giggle is one of the most invigorating and inspirational sounds for me. I think a little bit of focus on the family helps keep perspective on working long hours and being committed to my accessibility and Section 508 business. Since accessibility consulting requires travel, I've been known to listen to my toddler's laugh saved in a file on my phone and computer. That way I can always have a fun pick-me up that makes me smile and refocuses my energy on my business.

Thanks to: Dana Marlowe of Accessibility Partners, LLC.

159. Prepare and Plan

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If you only had an extra 60 seconds a day to invest into your business, I would urge you to spend it planning ahead. Taking a moment to look ahead at the end of each day to the tasks, appointments, and deadlines that you have to tackle tomorrow can help you be more efficient and effective in your business. I always tell clients that Prior Planning Prevents Poor Performance.
Thanks to: Christie Love of Simple Organized Sanity .

160. The 60 Second To-Do List

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Every morning before you do anything else take 60 seconds to make a to-do list. Sometime you feel completely overwhelmed with an endless todo lists, but if you limit the time to make your list to one minute at the beginning of each day you know the things you need to prioritize since those are the things on the forefront of your mind. You can have a bigger overall todo list so you don't forget all
the other things, but get that one minute to do list done first and then move on.

Thanks to: Laura Petrolino of Flying Pig Communications.

161. Please, Talk to Strangers!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: When in a metro area or business-saturated location, buy the person's coffee behind you in line at Starbucks! A qualifier to frequently add is, 'as long as they are dressed/together enough to appear to have a job,' (no need to pick up the tab for a hungover college student). I'd especially reach out if the person is wearing upscale business attire. Nothing says 'I'm making moves, do you want in?' like the gesture of getting something for someone that he/she could easily afford themselves.
Thanks to: Julie Beltz of Elite Status Marcomm.

162. It's begins with our thoughts

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Ideas, innovation, and attitude are what the successful entrepreneur brings to the table, and it all starts with his thoughts. A simple 60 second meditation to quiet the "noise" will create a clean mental environment for actually mentally downloading what is needed to succeed. Turn off the phone and computer, close your door and close your eyes. Start breathing through your nose and bring the light form the heavens in, while eliminating thought. Yes, try it for just one minute per day.
Thanks to: Andy Feld of Andy Feld author/speaker.

163. "Call a Friend"

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If I had only 1 minute, a mere 60 seconds to become a better entrepreneur I would call a friend and ask her for her wisdom. When I call her I would tell her that she only has one minute to mentor me.
Thanks to: Sheila A Caruso of AVON.

164. Reconnect with your network

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: If you only have 60 seconds, how about sending an email to someone in your network. If you are using social media you probably have hundreds of contacts at your fingertips. It's easy to build a list of connections, but it takes work to build a real connection. Once a day, take the time to send a message to one person. Send an announcement about your latest achievement, or ask them how their business is doing. You may learn something new or find a project to collaborate on.
Thanks to: Leah Oviedo of Investing In Women.

165. A Fortune For Free

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: I would spend one minute listening.

When I stop for a minute and listen I am reminded of what is important. Right now I stopped to listen and the sound of birds singing came forward and the sound of road construction fell into the background.

The chatter in my head goes away when I just listen and my intuitive guidance comes forward.

Listening is free, and is worth a fortune. It is priceless what you receive when you listen. Give it a shot, you may find a fortune in the process.
Thanks to: Ken Bechtel of Finding You In The Goo.

166. Shhhh!!!

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Shhh! Think about your day, it's loud and busy, right? For 60 seconds, just find a quiet place and sit there. Do nothing, let your thoughts wander. Make it one minute of pure down time. Giving yourself just a minute of peace will let you come back out swinging, with more clarity and focus than you had when you were trying to force yourself to think clearly in the midst of all the business.
Thanks to: Colleen Chapman of Copic Marker Scrapbooking.

167. Who's on First?

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Start the day by prioritizing your work - honestly prioritizing your work. With the right systems in place, you can prioritize your workload in less than 60 seconds. Prioritizing will give you the clarity you need to accomplish what is most important to your organization. The ability to focus on your top 1 or 2 priorities day in and day out will propel you business. Be mindful of distractions and always challenge them to determine if they are more important than your top priority.
Thanks to: Ann Michael Henry of Mise En Place.

168. The Optimized To-Do List

60 Seconds To A Better Entrepreneur: Make an optimized to-do list. List out everything you have on your plate to do during the day, then list next to each entry how long you estimate it will take as well as what priority it is (1 is your first priority, 2 is your second, etc). Also note if that task can be delegated to someone else on your team or outsourced.

Optimized to-do lists make my life as an entrepreneur possible and keep me from wasting time on non-important items that feel like they are important

  4. Joshua Black | The Underdog Millionaire Says:

I have another one to add to the list, something that I do at least twice a day in order to spawn new product ideas.

Take a minute and invent a new business idea. 98% of these things will never happen, but just by the sheer act of inventing something quickly on paper (it can be just one sentence) you can come up with some million dollar ideas FAST that would not otherwise come to you when you are trying.
